Lots of things to see - Museum, art gallery etc, all close to each other. Some things are further afield and worth seeing, so a car is very useful/necessary. I discovered the buses don't take cash and I would have to apply for a travel card 7-10 days in advance to get it in the mail! They don't take credit cards either (apparently that is coming in November 2024, but not much use to me when my friends weren't able to give me a lift as planned!) I can't believe a city that wants visitors makes it IMPOSSIBLE to go anywhere by bus or light train!Jean - 8.0Scored 8.0

Very relax place to just explore and take a break away with some interesting places to see and visit for different reasons. Also there are plenty of outdoor things to do, did go Mountain biking as the tracks are awesome. Worth a visit, when you can

Canberra is a wonderful city to visit. Heaps to see and do with some fabulous restaurants. Gorgeous in the Autumn, especially on the lake. Take into account there is a lot of construction happening in the city so some attractions like the War Memorial are a bit less than they can be. School holiday trip with the grandsons. They loved the dinosaur museum and miniature village. So many places to visit, we needed more time. The work going on around the War Memorial made it a bit difficult to look around the grounds and parking was limited as it was the week before Anzac Day and many areas closed off. The restaurant and the buffet breakfast ($28 per person each morning) had great food, service and ambience. The jungle setting is really nice. The room was comfortable as well. We were very impressed with the fact that we were able to have a king and single bed in the room. Value for money was really impressive as well. Price was low but the hotel wasn't cheap. We will stay here again if we visit Canberra again.
