We had an absolutely amazing stay at Aldeia da Cuada and felt right at home every time we returned from a long day exploring the magical island of Flores. This truly hidden gem in the middle of the Atlantic is an old 17th-century village abandoned in the 1960s and lovingly restored by its owners. The traditional cobblestone houses offer breathtaking views of the ocean, mountains, and waterfalls, creating an atmosphere of pure tranquility. It’s just a 5-minute drive to one of the island’s most famous and enchanting spots, Poço da Ribeira do Ferreiro. Aldeia da Cuada has everything you need to feel like you’ve stepped into a Tolkien fairy tale. An exceptional location—so much more than just a hotel! The warm pool, cozy houses, comfortable beds, and the best breakfasts with incredible variety made our stay unforgettable. The restaurant serves delicious, flavorful, and fresh food, clearly prepared with love. Considering the limited availability of products on the island (as seen in the half-empty supermarket shelves), the dining experience felt like stepping into a Michelin-starred establishment. The staff was amazing—attentive, friendly, and delivering top-notch service that truly impressed us. Goreti is an absolutely amazing host who made us feel so welcome. To top it all off, when our flight was canceled, we spent another perfect day at the hotel, making an unexpected situation feel like a gift.

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. Beautifully renovated and comfortable house located in a small rural village. Fully equipped, but in keeping with the traditional style. Bed was perfect, I slept very well. There’s a parking space up the road (1-2 min walk) where I could always find a spot to park the car. It is located close to Faja Grande, Pocos da Ribeira do Ferreiro and the lagoas. You can even see the two waterfalls from the village. There are also some good restaurants close by in Farazinha and Faja Grande (book in advance). However, if you like to stay in, the kitchen is has everything one needs. Supermarkets are a little further away in Santa Cruz or Lajes das Flores, but I did not experience it as a downside. Felt like a home away from home. In hindsight, I would choose this accomodation for my stay in Flores all over again. Loved Casa Flor.
