The hut is super nicely decorated, has everything you need and more, including some snacks provided as a nice touch. Easy to find with the owner’s directions, you feel like you are completely alone in the nature with a beautiful view, except for some cute sheep grazing around in the morning when you wake up! Melfort Village is set in a lochside location, 24 km from Oban. Furnace is 23 km away.

All units have outdoor seating areas with barbecue. Pets are welcome at Melfort Village for a small charge. Some units have open fires or wood burners. Property was exceptional from cleanliness to staff. We stayed in a cabin with 2 rooms. It was a lovely relaxing stay without the hustle and bustle of a city. Can’t recommend enough the perfect weekend away in the calm.

We especially liked the location of Harbour View as it looked right onto the Bay and we could watch everything happening out there from the two comfy armchairs positioned right in the big bay window upstairs. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the showers were good. The outdoor spaces were great and we sat in the garden at the front one evening watching the ferries come and go. There is an information book which was helpful and the tourist information office is very close. Marzena and David had left a number of tasty things for us which was very welcome and there are supermarkets close by. The house has everything you need which is lovely when you’re travelling.

It is very clean and comfortable, with all that we needed for an enjoyable stay. Only a short walking distance from local amenities, we were able to access all that Oban has to offer. The well thought out recommendations by the owners were very helpful and really added to the enjoyment of our stay. A variety of needs and tastes have been considered here.
