Everything! especially the gardens it was like a paradise, full of the most colourful flowers I have seen and birdsong, lovely clean room with outside balcony looking straight into the garden, food was lovely, nothing was too much trouble for the owner Kumar who went out and got me a bottle shower gel free of charge and took me to the Safari pick up and my next hotel free of charge, an exceptional place run by an exceptional man.

Shiva’s Hippies Colony in Sauraha is not just a guesthouse , it is a home. Raj and Swastika form a lovely family. Kind, respectful and human, they welcome you not as a customer but as a friend. From the very first moment, you feel safe, at ease, and truly seen. It’s a typical Nepali family setting, where you can experience something truly different. They are not acting kind, they are kind. Authentically. You can feel it in everything they do. I kept extending my stay, day after day. I only left because I couldn’t change my flight ticket. They can help you arrange any activity such as jungle walks, jeep safaris, canoe rides. Pick-up and drop-off are available too, to and from the bus park. They provide bycicles for free, the Wi-Fi is excellent, and the chill-out area invites you to relax, read, meditate, or simply be. The rooms are clean and comfortable, matress is top quality and the food is nourishing and delicious, and the pool is a big bonus. If you are heading to Sauraha and want to experience something deeper than just transactions and services (not blaming anyone,it’s just not my cup of tea), look no further. This is your place. The staff was very service minded and went above and beyond to make the most of our stay in Chitwan. Some things that made our stay special was the pickup at the bus station, the welcome drink, free fresh papaya straight from the garden and the drop off at the bus station. The son of the owner even drove us to a place in the village after a rhino had been spotted there just so we could see it and the other night he came running to our room to make sure we did not miss the rhino passing by right outside in the street. We went on a great full day guided jungle walk with canoe and crocodile breeding center visit with Mr Gopal and Mr Som. It was quite expensive, but it was well worth the unique experience! We saw four Rhinos and several other animals on a day where some people who went by Jeep saw zero! Their 30+ years of experience really pays off!

The people working here are lovely and do literally anything to make your stay the best. They offer delicious food in there restaurant. I loved to sit outside in the garden and drink coffee or breakfast. You should definitely try the farmers breakfast, it is super delicious! Also the rooms are nice. The beds are comfortable and they even provide a mosquito net. WiFi access is strong throughout the whole property. I liked this place so much that I extended for a few more days. For sure an exceptional accommodation I can recommend to anyone visiting Chitwan National Park.

The restaurant food is excellent, tourist-safe, and made to order. They also offer top-notch personalized guided tours with incredible local knowledge of birds, animals, plants, and Chitwan Park, having many years of experience and an eco-friendly approach. The hosts took exceptionally good care of us, and helped arrange our departing transportation as well. Highly recommend!

Great spot with an amazing view of the river and park. Amazing service. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Location can't be beat as it's only a couple minute walk to the main part of the town.

Pasar was an amazing host!🫶 he took really good care of us and arranged everything what we wanted to do! Really nice terrace and restaurant at the riverside where you can face crocodiles while you are having your beer. Food was one of the best we had in Nepal. Make sure you book one of the renovated rooms, the bed was really comfortable after the teahouse beds with the trekkings. Slept like a baby. Highly recommend this place
