Each apartment has its own intercom, door opener and letter box. Free WiFi is available. Very easy check-in process, even with reception closed. We asked for a garage space early and got to use the dedicated space in the hotel - for which many thanks. Lots of room in the apartments that we had - perhaps lucky to be at the front. Location brilliant - had two great local walks - one just after we arrived, and one before we left, plus a very good meal in the nearby square. Fetched lovely croissants for breakfast from the recommended boulangerie. And there's a geocache close by. Could easily have stayed longer.

Set in a chalet building, rooms at Hôtel de Ville have been recently renovated and retain traditional wooden features. They all include a TV set with cable channels and en suite bathrooms with bath or shower. I loved everything about my room: the furnitures, the bathroom and the wonderful view. The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant was also good. I came to Gruyères to visit the H. R. Giger Museum and bar. The hotel is centrally located, only a few steps from the Museum. It was perfect for me. Highly recommended.
