Arima Onsen, Kobe
A seasonal outdoor pool, various spa and wellness facilities are available at a surcharge. Guests can enjoy the public hot springs bath free of charge. There is also a hot springs bath that is available for private use upon prior reservation at an additional fee. Amazing hotel. Not a cheap one, but it is definitelly worth the money. We definitelly recommend to take a room with a view, seeing mountains in the morning was wonderful. We didn't have a ryokan-type room but were still amazed by the quiality of everything - cleanliness, design, etc. Our room had a capsule coffee machine, a set for drinking tea, hair brushes, hair pins and other small things that added a pinch of comfort to our stay. The hotel also provides guests with Japanese-style clothing: a set of a "shirt" and pants, and a yukata. You can walk in it everywhere in the hotel which was very nice. The hotel has public onsens on two floors, both have open-air baths. The staff is very understanding and would help with the rules of visiting. You can also book private onsens that turned out to be not very expensive. Sometimes the hotel holds special events. We managed to visit stargazing and saw Jupiter through a telescope while eating sweet potatos! The hotel provides a bus that regularly travels through the Arima village. You can also call the hotel to pick you up. The village itself is very beautiful. There is a ropeway to the nearby mountain. I heard you can also hike to the summit.
Kobe Bay Area, Kobe

Free WiFi is provided throughout the property and private parking is available on site at a fee. The price is high, but you can expect a lot. The hotel rooms were great. You could choose if you prefer to sleep in big comfy western beds or prefered a Japanese futon instead (there were two rooms, so enough space to get the futons out). Maybe prepare a bit in advance, so that you know what´s going on, because the English introduction at reception is a bit shorter than the Japanese one, but the staff is always really helpful and can answer your questions. Breakfast and diner were both included and were fantastic. The sushi cook in the evening was so helpful and we tried 2-3 different sort of fish we never had before. And all the other dishes were great, too. Don´t forget to stop in time, so that there is still room for dessert ;o) The onsen on the roof is wonderful. You have an excellent night view and can see the beautiful harbour area. There is an onsen for women and one for men. First there is a big room where you undress and put your clothes in little baskets. Then there is a shower room followed by a pool, a whirlpool and the lovely onsen. And if you want to spend around 200 Yen extra, don´t forget to visit the room with the massage chairs. They are amazing.

It was nice accomodation for staying with nice breakfast. The place was lot of spaces and quiet, interior is beautiful and relaxing place.
Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The breakfast choices were exceptional and good value for money. Well located and spa and sauna was excellent
Good breakfast, close location to shopping area, spacious and clean room. The massage chair is a bonus!
Nice hotel, new interior, breakfast was also good. 10min by taxi to Shinkansen station. Room had a massage chair. Nice relaxation! Only missing point was body lotion :) 🙂
My room was spacious and well-equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, and breakfasy offers a good selection of Japanese and western item + a great view! There is a public bath and sauna for guests to use, which was a real treat too. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kobe.
Amazing relaxing experience, treated so well during our stay there. We had the kaiseki multicourse dinner which was delicious and tons of food. Booked the private onsen and a massage in our rooms. Comfortable sleep on the traditional futon beds, what an experience overall. The breakfast was no worse than the dinner!
it’s just amazing ! we stayed for two nights, and had breakfast included. and for each day the breakfast was different ! services are amazing ! we need to go to bus stop nearly when we already checked out, but it was raining, two staff came and helped with with luggages! and room was amazing and we got a massage chair ! the hot spring was so relaxing ! highly recommended!
The private onsens were such a treat, you almost don't need to go anywhere else. The room was so spacious and beds comfy. They had a large choice of gorgeous yukatas. Breakfast was absolutely stunning. Wish we could have stayed another night, a truly relaxing and peaceful stay.
The staff here are so charming and kind, we really felt welcomed. We arrived before check in but when we returned from Bikan our bags were in the room. Our room was fabulous, spacious and with so many amenities- tea pot, coffee drip, kettle, toaster oven , lovely plates etc and even bagels for breakfast ! The bath was large for Japan too and very relaxing after sightseeing. We liked the local touch with denim and navy accessories. It was very quiet during the night.
