All the staff are very friendly and speak English very well. I was especially impressed with the receptionists Nardine and Catherine. I learnt that the Sonesta brand places emphasis on technological amenities and I had a really enjoyable jacuzzi/shower hybrid in my bathroom. The hotel boasts a great restaurant on the Nile which serves great food and the best hibiscus tea. I haven’t stayed in other hotels in Luxor but I would have a hard time betting against the Sonesta being the best hotel in Luxor.

Nile carnival cruise was amazing. we booked the 4 nights from Luxor to Aswan including sightseeing package. everything was organised well in advance. special Thanks to Maher and Romany who did an outstanding job. We got the schedule in advance, meal times are adjusted according to visits and return times. we had a guide for each visit depending on the city we are visiting, they were all on time and quite knowledgeable of the history. the view from the room was great. would recommend to others and would visit again. location of where the cruise stays at Aswan is 2 minutes to the train station, shops and markets.

I highly recommend having dinner at a rooftop restaurant nearby — watching these massive statues as the sun sets is an unforgettable experience. And the morning? Just wow. Millions of hot air balloons rise into the sky, drifting gently across the horizon. It’s like watching a fairytale come to life. Pure magic, from sunrise to sunset. What makes this place even more special is the calm and peaceful atmosphere. It’s incredibly relaxing — the perfect place to unwind and soak in the beauty of Egypt. Without a doubt, this is the number one place to visit in Luxor.
