If you're planning a surf trip to Sri Lanka, Plantation is the perfect place to stay. Located just a stone's throw away from some of the best waves in the area, this hotel is also conveniently close to a variety of restaurants in Midigama that are worth checking out during your visit. What really made our stay special, though, was Chapu and his family. They welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond to ensure that we felt right at home. Whether we needed advice on where to go or help with anything else, they were always there with a genuine smile and positive energy. The hotel itself is also top-notch, with all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. And if there's anything else you need, just ask Chapu and his family – they'll make sure you're taken care of. One highlight of our stay was definitely the food. From refreshing juices and lassis to traditional Sri Lankan breakfast dishes, everything was delicious and reasonably priced. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Plantation again if we return to Sri Lanka. Thank you, Chapu and family, for a wonderful experience!

It also offers a private garden and parking space for bikes or tuktuks. You can choose between different delicious breakfast options, which are delivered to your room. We loved our stay! This is a perfect place to relax. The hotel is built on a hill and can only be reached by a funicular railway or a long staircase. Due to its elevated location, you truly feel part of the jungle, with a stunning view to match. The highlight of our visit was definitely the monkeys – but a word of caution: if you're not a fan of monkeys, this might not be the place for you, as they can be quite intrusive. They even stole my sunscreen and almost broke into our room, as they are able to open the door (always lock the door!). The bar and staff were outstanding – very dedicated and friendly. We loved relaxing at the pool on top of the hotel.

One of the best stays I ever had! Very friendly and polite staff. They were really making their best effort to serve and make us feel welcome. None of the staff were pushy with offering some other services (like in other places), which I appreciated a lot. The plants around really made me feel connected to nature. Also great for the whole day around the pool relaxing and enjoying delicious foods and drinks. The food was really amazing!

This place is run by a family. They were really kind and helpful with everything. We came late for checkout but still they let us use the room and the bathroom. Really kind people. We liked everything. Very close to the sea. Walking distance from coconut hill. One of our best stays.

Beautiful views of the lake. Even able to take a boat ride if you wished too. Rooms were spacious and had its own pool. Very comfortable and luxurious. The staff went above and beyond for me. They surprised with an amazing birthday cake following my amazing Sri Lankan dinner which I was not expecting. This was due to me mentioning i was there as a birthday gift to myself. I felt so comfortable travelling there solo as a woman. Highly recommend this hotel. Loved the little library and peacocks on site. Even saw a crocodile pass in the lake.

Amazing environment, best resort and spa ever. I have never experienced such impressive hospitality. I am vegan and they prepared a menu for me personally. They have great Yoga classes and spa. From the moment we arrived at Cape Weligama, our honeymoon became truly unforgettable. The villa we stayed in was incredibly spacious, offering every comfort imaginable, including a luxurious bathroom with its own sauna. The highlight was the stunning infinity Moon Pool, where we could relax while enjoying breathtaking ocean views. The Beach Club with private beach access made our stay even more special, giving us the perfect balance of privacy and relaxation by the sea. The gastronomy was simply outstanding—every breakfast, lunch, and dinner was of the highest quality, comparable to a world-class five-fork restaurant. We are especially grateful to our host, Salman, who was always attentive and ensured every detail of our stay was perfect. Our heartfelt thanks also go to the entire service team, particularly Lahiru, whose warm and impeccable service made us feel at home. The hotel also organized a safari to Yala National Park, taking care of everything from the comfortable transport from the hotel to the park, to arranging our own private jeep and guide once inside. Our guide, Damitha, impressed us with his excellent explanations and deep knowledge of the park, making the experience even more enriching. To make the day even more special, we enjoyed a spectacular lunch at Wild Coast Tented Lodge, another property from the Resplendent group—an experience that exceeded all expectations. We had a magical honeymoon on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, and without a doubt, we will return next year to celebrate our anniversary at this paradise.
