The room was nice and all in all the atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant yet quirky. It had the feeling of staying at the Overlook Hotel from Stephen King's book The Shining. The staff was a bit overwhelmed by work and not necessarily up to their tasks and the hotel manager had to micromanage the tiniest things like fixing the Cappuccino machine. We only stayed a night so I can't comment much on the facilities. The breakfast was rather adequate and the staff members all were really nice.

Hidden away in the Thuringian forest, this 4-star hotel is a perfect place for a relaxing, nature-filled holiday. Enjoy a range of free facilities, and a friendly, welcoming service.

Luisenthal is at a strategic position, close to the famous Oberdorf and also from Ohrdruf, which has all the utilities you may need, like 3 or 4 good supermarkets. The hotel is in a forest area. It is spacious and silent. Good pool.
