THis facility is EXCELLENT!!! What a dream of a place to relax and vacation. Mother Nature provided rain for many days but we were comfortable, well taken are of and enjoyed the clean indoor pool and sauna. Gorgeous grounds, fantastic breakfast and afternoon "Kaffee und Kuchen" with delights backed by Margareta (the owner) herself. This is a family operated hotel and restaurant and we were truly spoiled. They all went above and beyond helping us (when our rental car would not start), catered to our needs for our 93 year old mother and were always kind, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the property called the Mostschenke im Heustadl and provides a five star Austrian experience in dining. The family has been on this property since the 1600's and have up-dated and built the hotel in the last ten - twelve years. The Mostschenke is the renovated cattle barn and it a delightful venue for dining. The Hotel is clean, bright and the two bedroom chalet suite is a dream for a family vacation. The location was excellent, very close to the river and shops. The swimming pool was a good length and also a jacuzzi The staff were very helpful Our room had a balcony which was fantastic for a glass of wine in the evening

I absolutely loved this place. I could not recommend it more! The spa facilities were exceptional, i had a facial and that was great! The food was great. The staff were all professional and helpful. I would 100% stay here again. Worth the price tag.

The hotel is well situated, just across the river and a 2 minute walk from the main avenue. It's about a five minute walk from the train station. The room was a good size and the bathroom was also good. Bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was a nice treat with good offerings. The hotel restaurant is closed on Wednesday nights but they have a good suggestion for a nearby Austrian restaurant with good schnitzel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I would stay there again should I find myself in Bad Ischl.

We booked the hotel last minute and were lucky enough to still be able to book a superior room with a balcony overlooking the river/mountains. The view was beautiful. The spa/chill out area was an unexpected bonus and great that it was open until 9pm giving plenty of time to relax after a day of exploring. The bar downstairs is also great. Great service, great atmosphere and the food was delicious and really reasonable (really recommend the sandwich with roast beef). Will definitely be coming back!
