If you want to have an experience in a traditionnal family owned ryokan, I highly recommend to stay there :) It is exactly the kind of place that I hope will still exist in some years!

Yamagata Zao Onsen Ski Resort can be accessed by ski lifts and aerial lifts that are located within a 5- to 10-minute walking distance from the property. Friendly staff, excellent meals, traditional ryokan with full of histories!!!
