It was my first time in Kusatsu and I am really happy that I chose the Buna Hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean. I love its modern side while still keeping a very traditional Japanese atmosphere. The place is beautiful, very quiet, and the welcome was so polite. I will recommend this hotel to my friends in France, and I truly hope to come back to Kusatsu one day. Arigatō gozaimasu! 🙏✨

The staff are friendly and so helpful. They even called ahead for us to see if some things we wanted to do were open. We can’t wait to come back!

There was a very homely atmosphere. The dinner was perfect and enough food for 2 days! Rooms were specious with a view on the stream. Next to the accommodation is a beautiful park with multiple footbaths and the street to the centre is filled with souvenir shops and unique eats. The staff were real accommodating, especially the hostes was exceptionally welcoming, sweet and lovely! The in-house onsen and sauna was extremely relaxing. 11 out of 10!

The location is quiet and with perfect picturesque views of the mountains from the onsen. The staff are really nice and accommodating, even though we don't speak japanese. The food is amazing and at the same level of a fine dining restaurant every breakfast and dinner. Special thanks to Chinoki who served us everyday in English and helped us enjoy our meals everyday.

Gozanoyu, a hot springs bath facility is a 2-minute walk away while Ohtakinoyu is a 7-minute walk from the property. Sainokawara open-air bath is a 15-minute walk or 5-minute drive from the property. Kusatsu Kokusai Ski Resort is 1.1 km from the property. Location, comfort, and service were all excellent. The Ryokan was equipped with very good facilities. Private onsens were available as well, although you need to take turns to use one of the 4 shower rooms.

The hotel offers ski storage and luggage storage. A hot-spring bath can be reserved for private use, for a fee. An authentic Japanese breakfast is served. The staff was the most outstanding, polite staff I've ever had the plesaure to be treated with. This is what Japanese hospitality is like. I truly respect it. The rooms were big enough and very clean. The hotel in general was very well kept and the Japanese astethic was great. We also stayed in a private Onsen of the hotel for an additional charge, which was totally worth it. It was an outside Onsen and it was snowing - truly romantic. The price for value is excellent and the location is great too. Just a 3 minute walk to the city center.
