They are kind and generous and nothing is too much for them. The food is home cooked. We stayed for 6 nights and had the pleasure of trying a variety of traditional Hungarian meals. My favourites were the venison goulash and the bean goulash. My daughter is a little fussy and so Istvan learned the English for asking what her favourite food was and she had pizza the next day! Istvan's English is good and he uses a translator app for anything he is unsure of and so communication is good. The hotel is at the end of a three and a half km track, on top of a forested hill. It is beautifully isolated. There are many labelled trails around the hill and you can walk down a steep path into the village of Lillafured. If you visit the tourist centre in the village you can get a free map showing all the trails. There is also a cable car, which can take you up and down the hill. This is the only public transport to the hotel as taxis will not take you down the track. We did not have a car, as didn't another couple there. They used the cable car to get to the hotel and Istvan kindly picked us up from the bus stop. Walking down the hill when we left was fairly easy, but walking up, with bags, would be difficult. Unfortunately, I broke my arm, whilst out walking. Istvan insisted on organising for his friends, Veda and David to take me to the hospital. They waited with me all day and brought me back with a Hungarian souvenir plaster cast. I am indebted to them all. Despite this mishap we had a very enjoyable stay and I fully recommend it.

I truly recommend the place for staying in so charming place like Sarospatak.

The hospitality was excellent, and the place was impeccably tidy and clean. The 2 bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable,( each room has 1 large double bed and 1 sofa that can be made into a double bed) The rest of the house is rather small and compact. All was beautifully prepared when we arrived, and the air- conditioning was already on to warm the place!! The property is well looked after, well-equipped with all the essentials, and very clean. The owners, whom we communicated with via WhatsApp, were incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. In conclusion, although there were some small drawbacks, such as the lack of window screens to keep the local bugs out, the property was well-maintained and met our needs. We would consider returning in the future and recommend it to others looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.
