Decorated in a country house style, the elegant rooms at the Landhotel Guglhupf feature a private bathroom and high-quality wooden furniture. Amazing little guesthouse with views over the castle! Hosts are very kind and helpful - there is cake in the afternoons. Breakfast was tasty with a wide range of meats, cheeses, breads, spreads, eggs and sweet things. Room was immaculately clean with a little balcony that looked out onto the castle. Parking in front of the building is very convenient. Only a few minutes drive from the castles.

Everything about this accommodation was top notch, it is one of the best places we've ever stayed! We had a standard plus room. The living and dining/kitchen area was very comfortable, and the kitchen was extremely well supplied for a short stay. The tv also worked beautifully. The bathroom had a wonderful, high water pressure, spacious shower that was really relaxing. The bedroom had a spacious and very comfortable bed. There was also a nice tv in the bedroom. The balcony was large and comfortably appointed; there was a slight view of the mountains, though this was probably better on upper floors. The proximity to the lake Forggensee was wonderful for walking and swimming. The sauna was also very nice! Even the dishware was charming and modern, as was the entire decor.

When walking around we have a splendid view of the mountains and the famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. We can’t bear nearer to the Königliche Kristall-Therme: on the other side of the apartment’s backyard fence is the parking lot of the thermal bath center! The apartment has a covered terrace and a lawn.

A large pasture is right in front of the apartment with an endless mountain range as its background, which creates a beautiful picture of countryside. Also, don’t miss the Forggensee which is only 2 minutes walk from the apartment. We had a walk or picnic by the lake everyday we stayed in Schwangau. Forggensee is really a hidden gem! Lastly, we have to thank Sabestian again for his helpfulness. We are so lucky to have Sabestian as we our host. He is very patient in answering all our questions prior to or during our stay in Schwangau. He made recommendation for places to visit. He also helped us book a taxi to the train station as we had to get a train in the early morning. Thank you so much, Sabestian!

Free private parking is available and the apartment also offers ski equipment hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. Great location near some fabulous trails and a waterfall. The trails to the castles are just behind the property and we hiked up there on a couple of occasions. Host was friendly and accomodating and the apartment was spacious with a nice balcony.

We arrived late at the hotel, but he was waiting for us at the door, greeting us and providing us with useful information about the hotel and our trip. The location is excellent, close to the train and bus stations. It is situated in the middle of the city's most interesting road.
