The meals at the restaurant were typical of Slovakian cuisine and were generous in portions. The staff were always accommodating and, in particular, the breakfast service was exceptional. I was there during a quiet time but they still accommodated for breakfast with so many options and the lady that was there every morning was extremely friendly, always with a smile, and is an absolute credit to the organisation and despite my limited Czech language skills we still had nice conversations each morning. I am not sure if I will be back to the High Tatras that soon but because there are plenty of hikes still to be done I probably will be back in a year or so and I would definitely stay here again.

An excellent base for trips to the Slovak Tatras. A very spacious, comfortable, bright and cozy apartment, equipped with all possible amenities. Very comfortable beds. Very easy and quick communication with the owner. Highly recommended.

Everything was great-all clean and new, good premises, nice rooms, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, we had big room. Location very good, close to center. Parking right at property.

We loved everything about our stay in Grand hotel Stary Smokovec. It was not our first time there, but it was the first time with our toddler and she had the absolute best time! The staff was super kind and helped us with everything we needed. They also made special arrangement regarding our room - extra bed for no fee and bathrobe and cute slippers for our little one. The hotel is simply beautiful and has great amenities - The spa and wellness is very clean, well organised and super pleasant. Children can play in huge kids room close to the bar so the parents can enjoy coffee, drinks and even food while watching their children having great time. The restaurant was awesome - tasty food and many many options for breakfast, lunch and amazing a la carte dinner. Even special request of our daughter for a glass of milk in the evening was fulfilled! The hotel staff is a team of great professionals. The fact that there is private parking right in front of the hotel and the location of this hotel being in the center of Stary Smokovec is obviously a huge +. You can choose from variety of rooms, we had a junior suite and it was very spacious and quiet with a view from one side on Lomnicky stit and from the other on the sunrise above Poprad. We will definitely come back again!
