The onsens were absolutely incredible – this hotel was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Easy access to the train station and Snow Monkey Park. Beautiful facilities and warm and friendly staff. The dinner and breakfast had great vegetarian options, and service was brilliant. High quality yukatas and tabi socks to chill out in when enjoying complimentary tea in the lounge. Overall fantastic experience.

We enjoyed the private onsens, breakfast was amazing. Didn't try the dinner, but i feel we missed out. Homeowners were very helpful & diligent - we were happy.

This was a real highlight of our trip and we wish we could have stayed longer! First the area and Ryokan are gorgeous, completely picturesque! Staff are attentive and friendly and make a real effort in English! The food and the rooms were top notch! My wife and I had the best time. Thank you to all the staff who work hard to make Sakaeya what it is! We slept like a baby thanks to the food and onsen and truly hope to be able to come back.
