THis facility is EXCELLENT!!! What a dream of a place to relax and vacation. Mother Nature provided rain for many days but we were comfortable, well taken are of and enjoyed the clean indoor pool and sauna. Gorgeous grounds, fantastic breakfast and afternoon "Kaffee und Kuchen" with delights backed by Margareta (the owner) herself. This is a family operated hotel and restaurant and we were truly spoiled. They all went above and beyond helping us (when our rental car would not start), catered to our needs for our 93 year old mother and were always kind, friendly and accommodating. The restaurant on the property called the Mostschenke im Heustadl and provides a five star Austrian experience in dining. The family has been on this property since the 1600's and have up-dated and built the hotel in the last ten - twelve years. The Mostschenke is the renovated cattle barn and it a delightful venue for dining. The Hotel is clean, bright and the two bedroom chalet suite is a dream for a family vacation. Breakfast selection and quality was absolutely amazing, room was spacious, and fully equipped with what we need and more! Facilities were better than expected, you cannot miss its swimming pool, sauna, morning yoga sessions, and also the location of where it is located right across Traunsee. We also managed to kayak on our last day, it was absolutely breathtaking.

Everything was perfect. The view from the house was stunning with the lake and imposing mountains. You could sit on the terrace and have your breakfast looking at the incredible view. The house was very well equipped and pretty. The owners were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They picked us up from the train station. It was a short walk to the lake where you could swim. The village of Traunkirchen was not far to walk and from there you can catch a boat to Gmunden. They are a few cafes in Traunkirchen too. Traunkirchen is a pretty little village. It was nice to get away from the crowds in Vienna.
