Walking was no issue. The host was very prompt with responses for any questions and the check-in instructions were very easy to follow! The Gate Lodge is the perfect blend of classiness without fussiness. The host was very responsive and everso helpful but gave us complete space to ourselves. The garden was private and quiet except for the birds. The kitchen was well equipped for those of us who enjoy cooking. The beds and sofas were very comfy. The showers were powerful. There was nothing I'd have wanted to be any different or could imagine could be improved.

The owners were local and very helpful. When we had trouble figuring out the European shower controls, the hosts drove right over to demonstrate. Very welcoming.
