For us, this was just a great location to have as a base whilst we drove around the island. It had everything that we needed to cook our meals, a lovely warm bathroom and hot shower plus the comfortable separation of a seating area and bedroom area. We stayed in the butterfly Lodge and would definitely stay here again☺️

Everything in “Downtown” Kirkwall is an easy walk of a block or 4. The artwork represents the area, quite lovely-got tickled at the stacked stones, became a fan of the stones on the beaches! Richard very easy to work with! Proximity to Archive Coffee (< a block)-so delicious!

Everything was very clean and convenient, and well supplied. The location was very good for both the neolithic sites and Kirkwall. There is a good supermarket in Kirkwall (10 minutes by car). There are some nice walks for the evening, and the parking is easy. The Wifi worked well, and the washer is modern and easy to use. This was a good break from B&B allowing us to eat more lightly and save some money.

Housed in a building dating from 1985, this guest house is 15 km from Maeshowe and 15 km from Standing Stones of Stenness. The guest house has family rooms. Big enough for our family, very complete with soap etc. makes it very convenient to stay. Rob was a very nice, welcoming, helpful host. Lots of folders and maps to borrow and explore. Everything on our list was within 15 min drive. Simply great! Wish we could have stayed longer
