A beautiful retreat from the big city. I loved the short 5 minute walk to the ocean or a gorgeous walk along the Itoo river. The walk to the hostel was really lovely. I'll never forget sitting in the viewing area in our room as it rained under the moonlight.

Our special thanks goes to the very nice male staff who render his efficient services in table-setting for the many dishes of traditional Japanese cuisines, both for dinner and breakfast. He guided us the unique flavors of each type of food and the best way of eating with various sauces and condiments. He took the initiative to give us pamphlets about the sight-seeing spots nearby. We took his advice and did another hour of touring to learn more about Atami. It was a very hospitable and warming journey we had had with this hotel. Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Shrine is 25 km away. The breakfast and dinner were great. We enjoyed some of traditional Japanese dishes. Also we enjoyed coffee at the balcony over looking the Pacific Ocean. The location was quiet and privacy was ensured, so we were able to maintain our Nonerelaxing time. Last but not least, guest room with private open-air bath was great.

The service was very nice. And the room was clean and comfortable. We like the 70’s vibe!

I LOVED this stay. The ryokan is exactly what you want from an authentic Japanese ryokan experience. You are welcomed by the staff and provided a welcome drink. Then you get a tour of the property and your room. The property has all the needed facilities: public and private onsens, massage chairs, coffee/tea/water. The breakfast and diner are 10/10 quality and fresh, we were completely satisfied after. As for a day activity: panorama terrace going with a cable cart to the top of a mountain to view mount fuji: 10/10. Walking distance from the property. The town doesn’t provide much else to do. Room was cleaned daily and the futon beds are made for you.
