Has a really nice smell (unlike Beppu lol) and the temperature is perfect. There are also many different separate onsen baths which you can have for yourself for 1 hour if you ask. • Food : Overall great, standard Kaiseki meal (served in a dining room where each room is separated by a small movable wooden wall) • Staff : Very helpful and gave me the option to opt out of my room and go for a smaller one (cheaper) since my friend cancelled last moment and I ended up alone. • Location : As you can imagine, a great natural onsen is often in the countryside, you do have a bus that goes from Aso station (Kumamoto) all the way to Hakata station (Fukuoka) which stops by Kurokawa which is helpful. The ryokan's staff also pick you up at the bus stop if you inform them of your arrival time.

Absolutely gorgeous place: a small cabin in the woods, very comfy and spacious, with a lovely indoor bath. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the dinner was abundant and excellent (the shabu-shabu beef was amazing), as well as the breakfast. We had a really lovely stay and would have loved to stay more!!

Beyond expectations. Great room over the gently rushing creek. Spectacular breakfasts and sldinner. If you have one big spend on you trip, make it an onsen inn like this one.

The ryokan serves Japanese seasonal dishes at its dining room, which features an open kitchen. Teahouse Warabe offers self-service coffee. A variety of Japanese shochu liquor, wines and other drinks can be enjoyed at bar Kura. Breakfast and dinner were very good. Onsen was nice and clean. Room was good size and well equipped. Service was great and professional.

Excellent onsen (indoor and outdoor). The staffs are well trained and very friendly. The Japanese food was excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back again.

There's pick-up service from the nearby bus station. The service is very good, they even helped to keep your shoes. The view from the room is very nice, and the room is spacious and comfortable.

Free Wi-Fi is available at the public area. We had such a lovely stay! The staff were very helpful and kind and we loved all of the private onsens on the property. Dinner and breakfast were fantastic as well.
