Seems like it is family run. Very well thought out rooms which had everything we needed. All the furniture, fittings and toiletries were top notch. The lobby is very nice as well with many types of beverages and snacks. The breakfast is excellent traditional Japanese food. They took care of our dietary restrictions as well. The photos do not do justice to this place. The hospitality was excellent. It is a little on the expensive side, but everything was great and our stay was relaxing. Definitely our best stay in Japan.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this place. The area is stunning and the accommodation is spacious and cozy, and had everything we needed. It was the highlight of our honeymoon trip to stay in this ryokan. We were also able to choose between Japanese and European style breakfast in the morning which was nice. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay there longer. Thank you :)

I'm not good enough with words but it was definitely 10/10.

Amazing stay all around. The staff were extremely friendly and the hot springs by the river were fantastic. The meals were by far the best japanese food I've ever had. Located in a beautiful town with lots of shops and a nice walking trail along the river. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a traditional onsen ryokan experience.

We had the distinct honor of being served by the fifth-generation chef of this family-run establishment, which has been in operation since around 1890. Surprisingly, sleeping on a futon was remarkably comfortable, adding to the authenticity and charm of our stay.

Located a 5-minute drive from JR Kanazawa Station, Ryokan Yamamuro offers Japanese-style guestrooms with free WiFi. Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle Park can both be reached with a 5-minute walk. The staff was inviting and helpful. The stay was comfortable and the room was beautifully decorated.
