At the ryokan, all units are soundproof. At the ryokan, every unit includes bed linen and towels. We had our own private onsen in our room but we also tried the private outdoor as well and both were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were amazing as well. We love the free coffee, beer, tofu and ice creams. Would totally visit again!

The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Beautiful and cozy ryokan at Hirayu Onsen, about a 45 min drive from Takayama. The kaiseki dinner was AMAZING. They really loaded us up with good quality, buttery hida Beef grilled over a charcoal irori. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of the dinner - a lovingly prepared multi course meal with grilled veggies and beef, soba noodles, tempura, sashimi, dessert. It’s a very local place for many Japanese tourists - most of the signs, menus were all in Japanese so we had some trouble with translation. Staff were lovely and helpful!
