The owner went above and beyond to bring my luggage up to my room and also gave a tour of the whole building. It has all the amenities you ever need like towels, shaver, hairdryer, and many more. Location is great as well as it’s near to most sightseeing places. Don’t hesitate to book this accommodation, highly recommended :)

The location in front of Takaoka Daibutsu was the best. It's a historic inn, nice Japanese style room, and the staff was kind.

Loved the hotel. Location was a little far out for us. Taxi back and forth to town was about $50 USD each way and some taxis only took cash. Hotel and staff were exceptional.

It was a truly memorable experience; we will never forget our stay here. We had been to a ryokan before we had children and we wanted to share the experience with our twelve and fourteen year old. The staff was exceptional - so welcoming, friendly and caring (my son had quite a few random nose bleeds and they were so helpful and considerate). The Onsen was a fantastic experience, especially for Westerners. It was so tranquil and relaxing. The food was beautifully presented and was a feast to behold. We did struggle with some of the tastes and textures! The staff was exceptional and made us feel very comfortable during dinner and breakfast when it was obvious that we were finding it difficult to eat some of the food! We loved all the interesting artefacts and spent a good hour wandering around the ryokan and discovering all the nooks and crannies. The room was fabulous - so traditional and different to what we are used to at home! Thank you for a fantastic Japanese experience!

My wife and I had an extremely difficult journey to Yuwaku from Tokyo, but our stay at Kokarian made it worthwhile. Our shinkansen to Kanazawa was delayed by almost 6 hours after a train decoupling accident. Despite our reserved seats, we needed to stand in the shinkansen for almost the entire 3-hour journey since our train became overcrowded from the delays. The staff at Kokarian graciously accommodated our delayed arrival and provided an excellent meal (past the usual dinnertime). After bathing in a private onsen in one of four of Kokarian's extremely spacious, luxurious rooms, we had fully recovered from our difficult trip. Our dinner and breakfast at Kokarian were exceptional. They featured many in-season dishes we were looking forward to trying from Ishikawa prefecture (e.g. nodoguro, crab, lotus root, etc.).
