This is literally an old mansion that has been nicely modernized but retains an immense amount of the original character and details. Decent amount of parking on the street in front. Great breakfast. We had the better room with a massive king bed. Modern bathroom. Good heaters. You have the use of many of the common rooms for relaxing. Library. Pool table. Sitting room. Massive dining rooms all in period decor. Amelia who operates this home is very lovely and pleasant.

Amazing place in a beautiful setting with super helpful staff who clearly take pride in this wonderful experience. Pools are lovely and relaxing with lots of different areas of bubbles / jets / saunas/ steam room etc. rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Food is amazing with lots of choices ( we are vegetarian) and the even the breakfast coffee tastes lovely! ( unusual!)

This is an exceptional place to stay and one of the best on our one month trip in Portugal. Elsa treated us like family, the home is exceptionally clean with the most beautiful photo art of this gorgeous area. The breakfast is all homemade food with delicious baking and meat and local cheese, it’s just excellent. We really loved the room with beautiful wool blankets from the area, the fine touches are impressive. We slept so well as it’s so peaceful and comfortable. This was also one of our favourite areas to visit as very authentic and non touristy , lovely little mountain town. Elsa provided a lot of input on great places to eat, hike and enjoy. Elsa has great passion for her work and gives her whole heart to running this lovely place.
