A beautiful, historical building set in the old part of Ōtsu, I spent here a night before heading to Kyōto. The staff is friendly and competent, breakfast was abundant and tasty.

They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon. I was so grateful for how hard they all worked and how kind they all were. We also got the breakfast service in our room, which was excellent, and they provided several drinks in the fridge for us for free. They shuttled us from the station and back to it, and we were even sent off by the staff at the end of our stay. So friendly and welcoming. Also, our deluxe suite had the private open air bath, and I can't recommend that enough. It was so relaxing and incredible. Lastly, I personally loved the toiletries and additional things that came with the room (shampoo, straightener, beverages, yukata, pajamas, etc.)

The hotel is a 10-minute drive from Otsu Train Station, which is a 9-minute train ride from JR Kyoto Train Station. Great views of the Lake. Spacious Room. Free shuttle bus from Otsu station. Luggage transferred from Kyoto Station whilst we did sightseeing. Value for money. Staff extremely polite.

A concierge service, free parking and a 24-hour front desk are also available on site. Amazing, so amazing! The hotel looks like a 5* hotel, and feels like one. The interior is so fancy, I should have booked it for longer duration, considering how easy it is to reach Kyoto from here. It is double the price of a hotel from Kyoto, but the facilities make up for it. I had the Superior Twin Room - Non-Smoking and the view was amazing and I was lucky enough to catch the fountain show at the docks, which can be viewed clearly from the balcony.

Only a 1-minute walk from JR Kusatsu Station and a 20-minute train ride from Kyoto Station, Hotel Boston Plaza features a restaurant with Western food, a cafe-bar, and bright rooms with free wired internet. Massage treatments are available. Very friendly staff, close to the train station, clean room and delicious breakfast 🥞🍳
