This family-run guest house is quietly situated in Stadt Wehlen in the heart of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, directly below the world-famous Bastei rock formation. It offers free WiFi.

The delicious breakfast buffet consists of mostly local produce as well as homemade jams. In the evenings, guests can relax on the terrace with a good Saxon beer or wine. Firstly, we were happy to be staying in a family-run hotel and to be able to support a family business. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful, giving us tips for what to do and where to go and even for restaurants in the area as we were there during Christmas and the selection was very limited. We were also kept up to date about the weather and various other conditions in the general area. The breakfast was amazing, including the selection of the family's homemade jams. There were so many that we couldn't try them all! Fresh bread, loads of cold cuts and eggs, a huge variety of cereals, and fresh fruit.

There is a full restaurant with a bar and a large furnished terrace at the hotel. Breakfast is offered each morning and packed lunches are available. Free WiFi access is offered in all areas. The photos actually don't do justice to this place. We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. It was an apartment with 2 rooms, a kitchenette and best part, a really nice balcony area to take in the mountains.
