A lovely overnight stay, a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport. The hotel organised the taxi for us and we paid the driver E45 - the going rate. We walked along the coast to the little harbour town to the right of the hotel (as you look at the hotel from the sea). We ate at a wonderful restaurant - XH.MA - not touristy, great food. The breakfast at the hotel was very good - lots of options, including gluten free and vegan. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. The view from our room and balcony was excellent. The room is very large and the bed was comfortable. The welcome cocktail at check in and the bowl of fruit in our room - very nice touch. If you are passing through Athens as we were and want a break from the city, this is the place for you.

My host was incredibly helpful and friendly, and was most welcoming upon my arrival. Check-in was very straight-forward and easy, and my host even personally delivered my nicely-appointed breakfast to the apartment the next morning! The apartment that I stayed in was very clean and comfortable and had so many facilities - more than I could ever have needed for my short stay. It would especially be a great stay for couples with or without children, or small groups of friends, including those who wish to self-cater. There is not a great deal within easy walking distance, but the apartments are nevertheless located very conveniently to many restaurants and cafes, as well as the Ancient Temple of Poseidon archaeological site, if one has a car.

Offering a garden, a terrace and free WiFi, Varaba Country House is a recently renovated guest house 8.2 km from Metropolitan Expo and 14 km from Vorres Museum.
