The main asset of The Cott Inn is its staff, Anton and Poppy in particular but everyone whom we met went above an beyond to make our stay a very pleasant one. Breakfast and dinner both days were fab. Met the owner and his wife this morning and their enthusiasm shone through for their business and their employees. Lovely people committed to what they do and it shows.

What a gem of a find. Stayed in Rm 5. Such a big room. double ended bath in there with a separate large shower room and toilet. Large comfortable bed with nice sized TV if you want it. But it's the little things that make it. The tea making facilities with hot chocolate better than average coffees and fresh milk to go with it. The umbrella holder for wet brollies. The box of tissues, The little ornaments. All of these things make the room and the stay that much better. Downstairs there's a good selection of drinks in the lovely old fashioned but modern at the same time bar and restaurant, with an open fire. Can't really comment on food as we only had a bowl of chips and breakfast, but the bowl of chips was huge. Not some modern little basket. However, the breakfast was massive and superb. The owners have gone to great lengths to make this what it is and when we move, not far from Totnes next year, this will become our local for a drink.

With a charming oak-beamed restaurant, this former motel offers home-cooked food and real ales. Dartmoor Lodge is on the edge of South Dartmoor, surrounded by scenic Devonshire countryside.

I have stayed here on a number of occasions as it is ideal for access to the Dartmoor National Park. It is easily accessed from the main road. The rooms are clean, warm and well furnished. The is a good size restaurant with a well selected menu. The evening meal was nicely presented and enjoyable as was breakfast the following morning. A good place to stay. Ample parking spaces.
