Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms were a little noisy and a little dated. The lobby area was ok but felt more like a waiting room than a place to sit and socialise.
Staff were friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean and you got everything you need in them.

The location was fabulous. Really easy to explore the city from Times Square. The breakfast was also really great.

Great location, nice and clean exactly what we wanted for a 4 night family trip. The take away breakfast of croissant, bacon and egg bap and coffee worked perfect too.

United KingdomThe rooms don’t have adequate sound insulation and the noise from AC condensers is excessive. We changed room after the first night but the noisy AC was still apparent. We went for breakfast at Bond45 on the first morning; nobody said good morning and nobody came to take our order. We left and went to the other restaurant (Fagelman’s). Staff were friendly, said good morning and everyone in the team knew what they were doing. This was in direct contrast to the other restaurant (Bond45) where staff appeared to be moving around aimlessly.
The location - friendly staff - comfortable bed - breakfast options -

United StatesThe stay includes a free "grab and go" breakfast. We opted to get our breakfast sandwiches from Carve, and the bacon was not very cooked and looked odd, like it was a pork substitute. I wish it was posted on the menu, so we could have chosen a different sandwich.
I love the ambiance. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Upon check in, we received an upgrade to a suite which was fantastic.

IrelandThe noise, but being on the 4th floor you couldn't expect it to be quiet.
Staff were very friendly, couldnt do enough for you. Bobby the door man is an absolute gent. Hotel was clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable, and very welcomed after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. If you want Times Square on your doorstep this is the ideal hotel, as its a minute walk from front and back entrances.

United KingdomGym was good but peloton bike needs attention. Need a mirror in the room - only one is bathroom, which is difficult when 4 of us to shower and get ready. Rooms a good size, no view but as we didn’t have much choice that’s fine. Rooms do feel dark though, but a good size and good (compact) bathroom.
We relocated to this hotel as one we had booked was very poor. Hotel Edison was a great hotel - good location (we wouldn’t choose to be that close to Times Square necessarily but had to panic-book somewhere on arrival. Good breakfast, which was included in price saving us$80-$100 daily - the grab and go made it easy to get the day started. Definitely a good swap and would recommend.

United KingdomIt lacked a place to sit as a family with a bar. Of course there are lots of places nearby that you can use. The central sitting area could be developed further than its current use?
Overall stay was excellent. The hotel is lovely art deco. Helpful staff and the family room was ideal. Located so close to Time Square and Broadway was a real bonus. The two restaurants/café were excellent with great menus and first class service

United StatesWhen I checked in the room, I was told that I was guest of the day. I was told that complimentary snacks would be in the room. The room that I was assigned wasn't ready. I was given another room without the complimentary snacks.
I liked the room being on a high floor. I also enjoyed having restaurants and the whiskey lounge in the building.
