Where do I begin to describe paradise? I am so glad I booked into Leopard Reach as my base for the Yala National Park because I had a truly unforgettable taste of luxury in the jungle. I loved it so much, I stayed two nights. This is a truly special place, with only a few tent-lodges. In fact, I was the only guest on the property, and was treated like a queen. The interior of my room was top quality, with all amenities. And the private mini pool on the terrace was extremely welcome. On both nights I had an exceptional dinner; the first night consisted of a Sri Lankan curry with so many lovely dishes, and the second was an al fresco BBQ, prepared just for me. Breakfast was served on my private terrace. I cannot speak highly enough of Fonseka, the General Manager (the quintessential host) and his trusty team of Randika (what a great guy), Lakruwan (who makes the place run like clockwork) and Kasun (the Chef). The place is beautifully designed – brand new and decorated with great taste. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and very well thought out. Although we did not go to Yala to evaluate water pressure, the water pressure here was fantastic! 🙂 What truly made this stay memorable were the hosts. They were exceptionally attentive and went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we had everything we needed. From preparing refreshing drinks after a long day of travel or safari (they were amazing!), to ensuring we had coffee before our early morning safari and packing breakfast for the day – they thought of every detail. After a full day in the park, they kindly allowed us to freshen up and shower before continuing our journey, which we greatly appreciated. This level of hospitality is rare and made us feel genuinely cared for. I honestly regret not staying longer. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Yala – you won’t be disappointed!

I really like the breakfast I think that the suite that we stayed in was very spacious and it was clean, well organized, and it was a treat to have the private to our accommodation.

The location was in close proximity to the park and was a boutique hotel with outstanding food and service. Our host Gabrielle was very well informed and an interesting man. He had a real love for the park and the region, with framed photos he’d taken of the regional birds and animals. The facilities were beautiful. Special shout out to our safari guide Prasad who really made the experience fantastic for us. Thank you again! 🙏

The staff were welcoming and attentive - nothing was too much trouble for the butler, Mogu. The accommodation is outstanding - private, comfortable, impecable. We went on four half-day safaris, including one to block 1 and one to Bundalla, and had an incredible time. It was the highlight of our two week Sri Lankan holiday. Our guide, Kithmee, was a pleasure to spend time with. She was knowledgable, passionate and personable. She took time to get to know us, our interests and priorities, and our other experiences in Sri Lanka. Then she worked hard to optimise and customise our experience. She was so genuinely excited for us when we got to see the animals on our bucket list - and we got to see them all.

Out of the 10 places we stayed at during our trip across Sri Lanka, Four Chalets Yala was by far the most wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink and cool towels – such a thoughtful touch after a long journey. The two hosts – a lovely lady at reception and a gentleman who looked after us – were exceptional. Unfortunately, we forgot to ask their names, but their professionalism and genuine warmth left a lasting impression. The other staff members were also great. What we truly appreciated was that we never once felt pressured into extra services or reviews; their approach was natural, authentic, and sincere, which made us feel instantly comfortable. The chalets themselves suited our personality perfectly – modern, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed. Every detail seemed well thought out. The food was good, and the portions were generous. Adding to the charm was the resident family of monkeys around the property. They complimented the natural surroundings beautifully and made the experience even more memorable Overall, this stay stood out as a highlight of our entire trip. We felt very relaxed there. Four Chalets Yala combines comfort, design, and heartfelt hospitality in a way that’s rare to find. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yala and would absolutely return without hesitation.
