Amazing place inside the jungle, very close to the entrance of the national park. And the staff was very welcoming ahowing us around the place and also organizing the safari for us.

A selection of seafood is also offered. We stayed for 3 nights in October at this very nice hotel with rooms set within the garden, making it very quiet and peaceful. Nice pool and rooms only a short walk to a lovely, quiet beach. Free yoga is available every morning and the massages at the spa were also fantastic. However, the best part of the hotel was the staff, who couldn't do enough for us. The manager of the hotel organised a free moped ride to a nearby shop to get supplies and also let us borrow mosquito repellent as we had run out. He was also really helpful in organising a safari trip to Yala National Park and organised us a meal on the beach on our last night, complete with cake and chocolate biscuits for my girlfriend's birthday and a free king coconut in the afternoon. The food at the restaurant was very nice and reasonably priced Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay! We would definitely return to this hotel if we visited this area again.

Shine Wave Turtle Beach has a garden, a private beach area and a sun terrace with swimming pool and Full English/Irish breakfast in Tangalle. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 200 metres of Tangalle Beach. There is a restaurant serving American cuisine, and free private parking is available. Cleanest huge room ever. The owner built 2 floors big rooms bungalow, so every accomodation doesn’t have direct neighbors and therefore is quite and private . The bed was king and comfortable, very big bathroom , hot water and high pressure. We slept without AC and appreciate the ceiling fan. Breakfast was great: every day something different is offered . The position is unbeatable, close to a beautiful Long Beach ( no swimming though). The owner went an extra mile to arrange a scooter , provide meeKiri and always asked if we needed anything . The surrounding area offers a large number of restaurants and cafes , very quiet st night and the lagoon is pure poetry . We are now in talalla and no comparison : we miss already SHINE.

I am so glad I booked into Leopard Reach as my base for the Yala National Park because I had a truly unforgettable taste of luxury in the jungle. I loved it so much, I stayed two nights. This is a truly special place, with only a few tent-lodges. In fact, I was the only guest on the property, and was treated like a queen. The interior of my room was top quality, with all amenities. And the private mini pool on the terrace was extremely welcome. On both nights I had an exceptional dinner; the first night consisted of a Sri Lankan curry with so many lovely dishes, and the second was an al fresco BBQ, prepared just for me. Breakfast was served on my private terrace. I cannot speak highly enough of Fonseka, the General Manager (the quintessential host) and his trusty team of Randika (what a great guy), Lakruwan (who makes the place run like clockwork) and Kasun (the Chef). An amazing hotel surrounded by beautiful nature, filled with the sounds of birdsong and the peaceful melodies of the environment. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a full board package, and my favorite dish was the Sri Lankan prawn curry at the Turnstone restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly, and I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. A special mention to Harsha at the main restaurant, who took excellent care of my drinks and was always warm and welcoming. I also tried the Indian head massage at the hotel spa, which was deeply relaxing. The therapist asked how I was feeling and ensured the pressure was to my liking, making the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel has a large swimming pool set in the heart of nature, perfect for daytime relaxation. Throughout the day, I only saw about 10 people there, which made it feel peaceful and exclusive. I especially enjoyed sipping fresh coconut water by the pool – a truly refreshing experience. The room was very spacious and had everything I needed, including a minibar, coffee, and tea-making facilities. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay at this hotel and would confidently recommend it to my friends. I will definitely return.

I loved the quietness of the hotel. It was very very clean and spacious. The AC worked great in the heat. Also the foods Lakshita made us were perfect. Lovely breakfast that was super abundant, and also marvelous dinners with true Sri Lankan flavours. My girlfriend had some requests, like, she wanted pancakes, vegetarian food, No spicy food etc. This was not a problem and he made it all happen with a smile.

Delicious breakfast was served to my requirement. In this price bracket this was great value and a great stop after Yala before hitting the busier coastal areas to the west.
