Everything was perfect, the food, the room , the beach, the staff were adorable! We really enjoyed our stay! They prepared food for us even though we arrived late at night. They called our driver to settle everything!

It was great accommodation, I have enjoyed the private beach and facilities, the breakfast was nice with sea view, there was an opportunity to have a dinner on the sea shore with candles, there was also comfortable shower on the beach for body and foot, near the hotel there are good restaurants as well, there was possibility to use laundry

We had an amazing stay at Halcyon in Mawella! The hotel is perfectly located – peaceful, with a quiet, clean beach just steps away. The atmosphere is super relaxing, and the pool area is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds, so there’s always a spot to unwind. We ate all our meals at the hotel – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and every single one was delicious. The food is a wonderful mix of Sri Lankan flavors with some Western touches, fresh and full of taste. The setting is gorgeous and the staff are genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laid-back, beautiful spot to enjoy the south coast of Sri Lanka!

It was an amazing stay there! We got greeted by some monkeys eating mangoes in the garden followed by sooo many chipmunks! And at 5:30pm we got to see baby turtle hatching at the beach just 3 mins away, what a welcome! The breakfast was so delicious too! And we also could rent a scooter there and book a kayak tour around the lake near there, really awesome experience if you are on the adventourus side i would say.☺️

This was one of our favorite homestays in Sri Lanka. We booked last minute after a different local hotel cancelled the night before and we're so glad we ended up staying here. There seemed to be 4 rooms, each with a gorgeous view of the lake with large private balconies that had comfy chairs for relaxing in. The rooms were absolutely huge and pristine and had massive comfy beds and plenty of space for hanging clothes. We really appreciated having the fridge, and though there are only small local shops near by the manager sold us bottles of beer from the restaurant that we stored in the fridge and had on the balcony in the evening. Bliss! We also liked the spacious bathroom. The buildings are located in the most lush gardens which are very well maintained by a very smiley, friendly man. The Gardens are also hosts to a beautiful family of grey faced langurs (the nice kind of monkey), chipmunks and so many species of bird it was hard to keep count. A favorite activity was bird watching from the balcony in the early morning. Breakfast was in a raised platform that overlooked the lake and gardens and was so tranquil. We really enjoyed the fresh juice and fruit platters. The location of the accommodation is just a 5 minute walk from the beaches and the manager shared his whatsapp details and was helpful with booking tuktuks and turtle tours. There were peddle bikes available free to use and also kayaks for the lake. We had hired a tuktuk and this area was perfect for learning how to drive it, with long very quiet roads. On the odd occasion we couldn't start the tuktuk the manager was very helpful and supportive and got it started for us without us really having to ask. We didn't catch his name, but the manager was a gem and so very helpful. We only wish we could have stayed here longer! The local village is very quiet and peaceful, so this is the perfect location to really chill and enjoy nature and the slow pace of local life.

I recently stayed at Igabara Hobbit House Rakawa, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The place is truly special — surrounded by nature, filled with greenery, and designed with a lot of creativity and care. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a perfect escape from the busy city life. The room was very clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated in a unique hobbit-style design that makes you feel like you’re in a little hidden paradise. The garden area and pool are well maintained, and it’s such a nice spot to relax, read a book, or enjoy a quiet evening. The staff were extremely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything needed. They made sure everything was comfortable during my stay. The location is also great — just a few minutes away from the beach, so you can enjoy both nature and the sea. Overall, it was an unforgettable stay. I would definitely recommend Igabara Hobbit House Rakawa to anyone who loves peaceful surroundings, friendly service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I’ll surely visit again! 🌺✨

The bungalow was so lovely the furniture and decor was perfect for me a Balinese style. Great large terrace with sunbeds and a seating area. The pool was kept so clean and from it you had a view of the lagoon. Sunbeds also table and chairs to relax in by the pool. Only 10 bungalows on the resort. The beach is a short walk away with not a lot on it. If you walk a way there are a couple of hotels you can eat and drink at. Hardly anyone on the beach. Friendly helpful staff. There are other beaches 10 min drive away. We ate at the rezort a couple of times and the food was excellent. This was one of our favourite places we stayed at.

Large, comfortable rooms with excellent aircon. Beautiful grounds with peacocks and monkeys and shy kittens roaming around. Excellent location less than ten minute walk down to Silent beach and a couple of local restaurants enroute. Would stay again!
