Incredibly charming place in Matara, with a stunning pool in the middle of a luscious garden, few steps away from the ocean. The property has been designed with taste, one cannot help but relax fully here. Location is convenient, a stone away from Doctor house with its crazy nightlife, close to many restaurant options and main attraction sites in the area. The real asset of this place though, it’s the staff!! The kindest sweetest most genuine people, they went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable! It was my birthday and they even arranged some decoration in my room made with flowers which was so so sweet!! I was impressed.

I recently spent my holiday at Pinipahana Walauwa in Matara, located down south in Sri Lanka, and it was a wonderful experience. The property is a charming, well-maintained heritage-style house with a peaceful atmosphere and clean surroundings. One of the highlights was the English breakfast, which was absolutely delightful and well-prepared. I also enjoyed the dinner options, which came at an additional cost but offered a good variety to choose from and were very satisfying. The location adds to the experience with a serene pool and a distant sea view, creating the perfect setting to unwind. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with a touch of history!

We enjoyed the nature surrounding the property, very green area, very calm and the jungle view. What we liked the most was our host, they were really helpful with everything, finding us a motorbike, buying lemon for lemon juice at 10pm, booking our taxi for our departure, thank you so much !

I stayed only two days at this amazing place, and really wish I could stay more next time. It’s close to Mirissa beach, but hidden and surrounded by a small river. The sky was so clear at night, I’ve never seen so many stars so clearly, which you can watch from a roof top. Waking up for the birds singing and having a perfectly made breakfast, which was such a large portion I couldn’t even finish. The staff is really making you feel home during the stay. They arranged a boat trip and whales watching for me on a discounted price since I stayed with them. Would love to come back and would recommend it to others as well.

Wifi working and it is nice speed if compare with other Sri Lanka (~20-30mb), very spacious and clean room. Closet, desk, two chairs inside. Free kitchen and kitchenware for the guests. Cleaning is weekly, but brothers (owners) can help with everything, they were available whole stay offline or on whatsup. Worth for money, we stayed here 1 week and decided to prolong, because of this is the place you don’t want to leave! Thanks for the beautiful 2 weeks Cocoon!!

The hosts were amazing, one of the best I found! The place was well located, clean and comfortable. WiFi reliable and rooms with mosquito net and AC were a plus! You have a kitchen with a fridge you can use and they rent scooters at a good price so you don’t have to look around for it. They also arranged us a safari and ride for Dickwella for a good price! Definitely recommend and would stay again, great value for money
