After a bad experience in near by homestay from the moment we arrived in Ocean breeze, we were greeted with the warmest hospitality from Janaka who runs the villa. Villa is located just a few steps from the beach. Beach is wide, safe to swim and perfect for surf. Although mornings and late afternoons were busy with surfers you have a feeling it is still an undiscovered paradise, almost private because of the wideness of the beach, secluded from big crowds and city noise. There is a turtle hatchery right in front of the villa and a restaurant and surf school runned by a friendly family. The room was clean with comfortable bed and all the amenities you need for the perfect tranquil stay. Overall, we couldn't be happier with our stay, we will come back next year...

We were really lucky to find this place and spent 11 nights here! If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay in Sandbank again. New, clean, comfortable room with cozy terrace. Super-friendly, caring staff - they were always ready to help with ALL our requests. We felt ourselves very welcomed guests - not just regular clients. The place is located in quiet part of Madiha which was important for us - no loud music and parties around. There is no usual beach nearby but for us it was advantage as we don’t like crowds and swimming - just be in the ocean and jump with waves) Just several moments were specific and could be important to know in advance: there is no hot water (it’s not cold of course, just fresh), WiFi didn’t work in our room (n3), just on terrace - but this points just details, not problems and it couldn’t mess up our stay in such a great place.

Just like the name, we had a really nice and cosy stay and did some surfing. You can book good surf lessons with transport. Breakfast was super, you can choose between different options which is really nice. Very friendly hosts, quiet neighborhood and nearby good places to eat. 2 min walk to the beach.

The rooftop offered a wide panoramic view in every direction, and the restaurant allowed you to enjoy meals while watching the sea. location is great in the very calm and lovely part of Matara, Mediha and Polhena, the rooms were spacious, with still nice view, even if the other side of the road, restaurant is the best of the whole Mediha / polhena area with great breakfast and lots of varieties for dinner and located on the beach with possibility to see turtles, fishermen, ... . Staff is so helpful (i had a medical problem during the stay)
