It was simply precious. Private , secluded area. The owners picked us up with a jeep, organized a jungle tour for us and gave us a ride as well. The family is incredibly hard working and polite, they try their best to accommodate our wishes. The food is amazing. No AC but it wasn't necessary as it was pretty cool at night.

Perfect location if you love biodiversity. Very friendly and helpful owners who gave us a lovely tour of the garden (jungle). fantastic food, best we had in Sri Lanka.

We enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Rest very much. Maps may not for some reasons show the exact directions as there is a newer road uphill that one should take to reach the place. Relying on map directions we ended knocking on the neighbours' door but they kindly showed us the right direction : ) The place is an excellent starting point for a rainforest tour. The host organized a six hour rainforest tour for us and also took us to the bus station when we left, so we were very well looked after. The rainforest tour was awesome! We saw lots of birds, some monkeys and some snakes and our guide was very knowledgeable. Special care should be taken to keep leeches off as they are hungry and crawl faster than you might imagine. We were provided leech socks by the host that kept most of them away, but I still donated some blood to a couple of leeches. It may be a good idea to take some adhesive bandages with you to stop the bleeding. Sinharaja Rest is located at the edge of the village, so one can sit on the terrace and absorb the village sounds and listen to birds singing. A very nice place in the middle of nature, animals all around. Clean, spacious and cozy. The view from the villa is amazing and relaxing Dinner and breakfast were very good: local food home made prepared by the family. The host is very kind and welcoming. Fair price for the service we've got

Our stay at Woodland Hideaway in Sinharaja was truly memorable. Mr. Chanaka went above and beyond by offering us a complimentary night view tour, which was an absolute highlight. We were amazed by his incredible ability to spot various native birds — his knowledge and keen eye made the experience truly special. The meals were not only delicious but also uniquely prepared, giving us a taste of local flavors. The hospitality was exceptional, and Mr. Chanaka’s warmth and friendliness made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to return for another visit! Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone seeking a genuine Sinharaja experience.

This place is absolutely stunning! The view is the most beautiful in all the village - the cabin is on the hill so you can see everything from above. Peakoks in the nearby rice fields are wonderful, you can easily spot 8 of them on one field. In the night you can see millions of stars over the village. Room was spacious, comfortable and we had a hot water all the time. Amile, our host, was paying attention to all our needs and arranged a private transport for us so we could move without any problem to our next destination. He is also a wonderful licensed guide in Sinharaja forest, so we didn't need to worry about arranging our tour to this amazing place. He spot sooo many animals for us, and adjusted the route to our preferences. He also took us to the nearby tea factory and to the huge waterfall available with tuk tuk. The food was delicious and we loved everything in there. I absolutely recommend it, this place is a paradise and you definitely need to go there! :)

Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing accommodation. We also went on a bush walking tour with a local guide and saw many native animals. The staff were all friendly, accommodating and incredibly helpful.

Absolutely the Best Way to Explore the Sinharaja Rainforest! This was our favourite place we stayed on Sri Lanka trip. This eco-lodge is hands down the ultimate way to experience the magic of the Sinharaja Rainforest. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear you’re in for something extraordinary. The location is beyond words—completely surrounded by lush rainforests, making you feel truly immersed in nature. It is so peaceful and quite - no noise from roads, traffic etc. The staff made our entire stay seamless and stress-free. They have a convenient car park in the nearby village, where they meet you and transfer you up to the lodge in a 4x4—what a fun start to the adventure! We stayed for two nights (but would have happily stayed a 3rd). The accommodation is spectacular. Large windows on every side of the room allow you to feel like you’re right in the heart of the jungle. Waking up to the incredible sounds of the rainforest was unforgettable, and we even spotted monkeys and exotic birds right in our room! Amazingly, you also get wifi in your room. The staff were outstanding, from the friendly restaurant team to the knowledgeable guides. On arrival, the Duty Manager, Mithun, warmly welcomed us, explained all the details about meal times, and helped us plan treks into the rainforest. They offer a variety of treks and provide you with a guide. They are also pretty flexible, We wanted a longer trek to explore more of the jungle and this wasn't a problem. The trek itself was a dream. We spotted an incredible variety of wildlife, including lizards, snakes, and a stunning array of Sri Lankan birds. The guides were so knowledgeable and enhanced the experience. Overall, this was incredible value for money. Running such a well-maintained eco-lodge in the middle of the rainforest can’t be easy, yet they make it feel effortless. If you’re looking for great value for money and an unforgettable way to explore Sinharaja, this is absolutely it.
