I´ve had the most amazing time at Mabula. It was my first safari experience and I couldn´t have chosen better. We drove from Joaneshburgo airport and were a bit worried about the road - it was a 2h super easy drive. Room was amazing - spacious, clean, well decorated. Food was delicious. Staff was super nice - our game driver was amazing and we´ve got to see Lions, Elephants, Rinos, Giraffes, Zebras, Chacals, Antilopes, etc. I would definately come back and recommend it.

The stay was better than we have expected. The hotel is amazing so are the rooms. The team is awesome. Linda and Jennifer took really good care of us and Caitlynn, our guide was amazing. She listened to us and helped us find the animals we were hoping to see. Marataba made our honeymoon awesome. It's truly one of the best hotels we've ever been to. The little attentions and surprises made our stay unforgettable.

I like the place because it is very quiet, one had a rest...

I like the place because it is very quiet, one had a rest without any noise. The place is very near to Savannah Mall and we ate at Nando's. What i did not like is the restriction of lights at night, some of us we are students and study at night and the was no provision of a small table and a chair, such should be corrected.

A great location for some rest and relaxation.

A great location for some rest and relaxation. I went on a Big 5 safari game drive, and got to see the animals up close. I also had a heavenly spa experience at Karuna, and visited the nearby reptile park to see some rare snake species. Lots of restaurants around to try out a variety of meals, I went to the Club House and had tasty ribs. Then the breakfast at Aragula is to die for.

I liked the service from the reception, they were friendly. The view of our room exceeded our expectations. It was big enough to cater 4 people😊. Hope you can put bath mat in bathrooms to avoid wet floor and slipping.

The place is very spacious and calm. The full fridge/freezer was very welcome becaus we were on our way to Kruger Park and had our meat with us. Loved the privacy. Friendly host and help to locate a shop.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment. The roads are in a very bad state and the general condition of the streets, pavements and rubbish lying around is a disgrace for the municipality. There are no streetlights working and the overall deterioration of the town is the last thing one wants to show overseas visitors. The tar road leading to the Kruger gate is obviously in a good condition but that is all. The Pick and Pay and the Spur are closed due to a fire incident and there are not a lot of restaurants to go to dinner for.

Zwahili was amazing from check in to check out all the staff...

Zwahili was amazing from check in to check out all the staff were fabulous and we just had the most relaxing time with excellent food and a very relaxed informative game drive with Ross who was so knowledgable and interesting. We used the spa as well and Evelyn our therapist was brilliant. A truly memorable experience for us and we will definitely be back

The owner should consider removing all those concrete bed...

The owner should consider removing all those concrete bed base,they are so uncomfortable and if you lose concentration moving around those small rooms you can easily get injured.The shower and toilets are so small ,it is difficult to move around. I was booked for two nights but slept for only night and had to find alternative accomodation.They also have an entertainment area so on sunday the 27th April 2025,they play loud music as early as 10h00.

This is a good stopover, particularly for overseas tourists who will thoroughly enjoy the serene beauty of the reserve and the freedom to walk around. The surroundings are relaxing and the staff very pleasant and informative.

The chalet was well designed and equipped but didnt have a good outlook - no view and looked onto a fence. The facilities at Modjadji house were excellent - pool, kids playground etc.tennis etc. The special tea they hold once a week for residents and the talk was good and informative. The lady Francina who was in charge of the chalet was exceptional and made my birthday special Mabula need to tell clients more about the rules, what to expect and what you need to do in advance. Booking in at 15hr means you have paid for a day but really only in time to unpack and go to bed. If one could self drive, it wouldnt matter as you could enter the reserve early and go game viewing. I still dont know if game drives were for your account only that it cost extra if you wanted to enter the section where the lions were! You check out by 10am and then have to leave and go home! Mabula hotel doesnt have a coffee shop for toasted sandwiches, plate of snacks etc. - just a full buffet luncheon or a pub, drinks only. You can drive back to Modjadji house and swim or laze around there but they dont have an outside change room around the pool.
