The pool was well kept and maintained. We could just drop the keys in the box when we left. The rooms have aircon which was a life saver during the December heatwaves.

Our third visit to this wonderful oasis. We come to see Andre the manager whom we fell in love with on our first visit approx 13 years ago. He was on top form making everyone feel welcome and ensuring everyone was having a relaxing time.
The property has a lovely large infinity pool overlooking the ostriches and fields which is so relaxing, there’s also a seating area and a bar which is is great to lounge in after a busy day out exploring.
Breakfast is an excellent varied hot and cold buffet and dinner is a delicious three course event with a Braai of a choice of meat, I really recommend the Karoo lamb or the local ostrich.
Room super comfortable overlooking the garden and fields with big king bed and lovely soft pillows, I love the decadent ostrich skin headboards that only this area of SA would have and consider normal. large bathroom with big bath and separate shower, also separate loo.
Always sad to leave this place.
Parking very safe just outside your room, very convenient. Everything spotlessly clean.

It far exceeded our expectations, it’s very well run , nicely luxurious, excellent staff and we had some good game drives and were fortunate to see a Cheetah, there are only 3 on the property ( bigger than Singapore) no lion sightings which was a disappointment but nature doesn’t always perform to order. Some excellent interactions with a the elephants.
The food was good and from the decking we saw Kudo, Gazelles, Baboons, a Lion was spotted and a Brown Hyena.

A very nice and lovely place with tasty breakfasts and dinner. The territory is big and beautiful. There are enclosures with ostriches and springboks there which children may especially like. Fishing rods for fishing in their pond are also available there, so despite the location is quite remote from the town, there is still a lot to do on the territory for adults and children. The room was clean and nice with all the necessary things

Wow! We drove the" wrong" way over the rooiberg pass and arrived the back way, so this felt even more like a dramatic arrival into paradise!
Riaan made us feel so welcome- lit fires, advised walking tracks and checked us in.
The dinner was one of the best we had on South Africa. Great wine, roaring fire, good coffee and breakfast....
I would happily hole up in room 8 for at least a week.

Everything went well from checkin to ambience to room amenities and facilities in the property. The ostrich farm was real hit and so is the room, ambience , friendly dogs, great location and secured and safe environment. Congo cave, ostrich farm and Cango wildlife ranch was the great hit! Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. The room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, with lovely views of the farm. Dinner was a highlight — the ostrich bobotie was outstanding, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. The peaceful setting made it all even more special. Highly recommended!

Hospitality was wonderful, the host and hostes went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The accomodation and food were wonderful. The get togethers non the veranda watching the wildlife and hearing everything about the animals were very nice. We got great tips and help in planning many fun activities, that were booked and arranged for us by our host.

Had a fantastic toasted sandwich at the restaurant before the tour and a cold beer after the tour and so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the nature.

Unfortunately, we were there on a Monday and most restaurants close at 17:00 on a Monday. However, our host recommended we have dinner at the Karoo Art Hotel with a choice of fine dining or pub dinner. We choose pub dinner, which was delicious. Beautiful trail walks can be found around the farms. All-in-all a wonderful trip.

The only negative is the number of young coloured men asking to do and be useful when theyo are not required to do anything. One feels badgered.

We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale,...
We should have called the farm manager from Barrydale, because when we arrived at the locked farm gate, we found there was no reception. We couldn't reach him, and it was soon getting dark, so we had to keep driving until we got signal again, which only took five minutes. Wann, the manager, was soon there and opened the gate to paradise for us... remote, behind two other farms, we were able to spend comfortable days in this Karoo resort. Wann was always available, and one evening his wife cooked us a delicious meal. A river, a hot tub, an ice bath, peace and quiet, and an endless sky—what more could you want? This is the place to be for anyone needing a break. For more romance, under the stars, bring candles and reading lamps.

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise...
Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.

From the main road it looks like just another dusty deserted Karoo town. What a pleasant surprise on turning off into the little town. We had a superb breakfast at @Stuff and met some interesting locals. The town is experiencing a resurgence and is intersting, well maintained and spotlessly clean.

Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days.
Oudtshoorn is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. There is so much to see and do. The accommodation in Oudtshoorn, is generally excellent. The restaurants are very good, and the Game viewing is exceptional. The town itself has lots of character and charm.

Lovely quiet country village. Interesting little shops & great 2nd hand bookshop. Great walks/hikes & excellent restaurants (highly recommend "Mud"). Lots of interesting history.
