History behind the town and the location is great.
History behind the town and the location is great. Makes the following day's travel short and gives you time to stop along the route at the other towns. Recommend travellers book Beaufort as part of their trip.Guest review byLenroSouth Africa - 10.0

Our stay was very short but we experienced the feeling of 'community' - a friendly community very proud of Prince Albert. Will definitely go back. The meal at Prince Albert Cafe was delicious - a delightful little fine dining gem. Our stay at Prince Albert Country Stay exceeded expectations - friendly staff and very warm and welcoming owner.Guest review byCathySouth Africa - 10.0

It certainly felt like a real life experience of a bygone era. Enjoyed the car museum, the old red bus, and just walking down the street and observing and visiting the various buildings. Enjoyed a good coffee, and delicious cake at the Coffee House.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

The flood museum is a must as this gives you an insight how people came together under the most difficult circumstances. As we only stayed overnight we had a quick lunch at a coffee shop next to the museum. We found the town to be very clean and neat - head up to all for this.Guest review byNiftalieSouth Africa - 10.0

Travalia is a little oasis in the Greater Karoo, just when your trip is too long this little jewel appears on your horizon. Apartment was clean and had all the facilities you need. If you don't want to braai under your nice veranda, you can make a booking at the restaurant. Or, if you want to braai under the Karoo milky way, you can order in advance a good braai pack, salad and "braaibroodjies". For breakfast you can make use of the Travalia Padstal where you can enjoy a traditional breakfast or a variety of pies. The shop stocks also Karoo lamb packs as well as many treats and gifts.Guest review byAnonymousSouth Africa - 6.0

Uniondale was the centre point of our journey distance wise - so convenient . Also we had not been there before so it made an interesting stop over. Scenery was stunning and the road excellent. Hotel built in 1832 (I understand). Uniondale is about 14 kms off main road and entry and exit are through two mountain passes which were most attractive.Guest review byChristopherSouth Africa - 8.0
Wonderful location, beautiful renovation of old house.
Wonderful location, beautiful renovation of old house. Extremely well equipped kitchen and wonderful braai area. Be aware that the kitchen and braai patio are communal. There is only a kettle and microwave in the bedroom. The rooms are upstairs, all luggage must be carried up. Rooms are spartan except for very comfortable bed - no wardrobe, tables, chest of drawers. Shower is modern, spacious but not hot water. Beautiful walks on farm, peaceful and extremely restful. Fan in bedroom, insect repellent, but no heating facilities.Guest review byCamillaSouth Africa - 10.0
Merweville is a beautiful town! Friendly community.
Merweville is a beautiful town! Friendly community. The town is very clean and neat. The best coffee and breakfast at Die Boekklub with a shop to buy presents for family at home. There is a nougat factory as well - Karoo Blessings, unfortunately they were closed when we passed through, but we could find their yummy treats at "Die Boekklub" in town. The Graveyard is well looked after, we visited a family grave and we were very impressed! Everywhere you drive, people will greet you with a friendly smile! It gives you a warm feeling of caring! Loved the town.Guest review byRachelle BothmaSouth Africa - 6.0

The location is very good The room very Comfortable and neat If you want to stay there without breakfast might be a better idea We paid for breakfast but did not eat.Menu very poor indeed..The owner should make sure all is set in the bedroom before guest arrives .Hand towels are a.must.Toilet rolls are a must.Sugar for tea is a must.and if you pay for breakfast it should be provided.not just scrambled eggs and boerovorceGuest review byDayalanSouth Africa - 10.0
Prince Albert is a must visit.
Prince Albert is a must visit. It’s a quaint little town offering loads of charm and character. Surrounded by gorgeous mountain ranges and charming restaurants serving home made deliciousness from yummy pizzas to scrumptious burgers and don’t get me started on the home baked goodies. Add this to your visit. Won’t disappointGuest review byShanaSouth Africa
