We only stayed overnight but we felt safe, comfortable, and had everything we could think of. Our unit was quite large and we had a lot of room. I would definitely come back for a longer stay.

The grounds and room were beautiful. I'm sorry that it was cold when we visited as the pool looked so inviting. Melani made restaurant suggestions, brought us making for a delicious breakfast and saved the day when she secured a safe , last minute transport to our next destination that had been inadvertantly canceled at the last minute. She and her husband were very gracious and put us at ease. We highly recommend a Riverbed guesthouse.

This accomodation is a gem, in the town of Swellendam and within walking distance of it's lovely shops, cafes and historic areas. With beautiful maintained grounds and lovely rooms and some of the most friendly welcoming staff we have met . Do not miss the opportunity to dine in their onsite restaurant as you won't be disappointed they have amazing talented chefs who cook with pure passion and innovation to deliver Michelin star quality food at local prices, And what a meal!!!. The food, presention and service is just incredible (so if you don’t stay here, make sure you eat here) as you'll be blown away by the standard and quality. we are so thankful to the team for one of the most memorable stays we’ve had on this trip to Swellendam and SA. A truly wonderful experience, thank you all 😁😁We hope to get back for a third visit in the near future.

    Comfortable, safe little town with much to offer, two nights minimum stay I would suggest. Very convenient also as a stopover on the way back to Capetown, or indeed travelling in the opposite direction.

    The resort afforded my family and I to have a tranquil, relaxing weekend. Waking up to the sounds of the river were magical, not to mention the fine attention to detail with booking the various activities around the resort. From the admin team, to the ladies who tidied our unit they were all friendly and approachable.

    This is a very relaxing place.

    This is a very relaxing place. Away from the huzle and noise of the City. The Breede river that passes the house make it more relaxing during the night listening to the water running over rocks. Will definitely go back again.

    Swellendam is a stunning town.

    Swellendam is a stunning town. All the comforts you need are there and at the same time you can get away into the mountains and outer areas. There are good restaurants and coffee shops and great activities around the area. Mountain biking is what I would go for, but our stay was too short. Lots of history and my family and I were surprised at what this town had to offer. We normally just drive past, but was great to stay over.

    A beautiful little town with a lot to see, do and eat. The restaurants are top notch. We ate at De Vagebond for Supper their food was fantastic with great and friendly service, then we had breakfast at La Belle Alliance their view, food and service were tops. We also had a breakfast at Aan de Eike Guest House, it is a beautiful modern restaurant with lekker food and friendly service. The town is so clean and absolutely beautiful. We love going there. Activities for big and small go to the Fairy Garden. Swellendam is definitely a town to visit!
