Ingrid and the other ladies who work there were lovely and the chalet was comfy and had everything we needed, it was really nicely decorated too. It felt very quiet and private. Good location for Addo elephant park and other private game reserves.

ItalyBeautiful small lodge located in amazing private reserve! The rooms were stunning and we could see giraffes and warthogs from our terrace!
The staff was super nice and attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed!
The food was delicious and they catered for gluten free requirements very well. The drives were also great!
Our guide Des was extremely knowledgeable and fun and we saw all the big fives, incredible scenery and learned about so much about all the animals!
Overall this is a great reserve, we had a very special time and would highly recommend!

IrelandWe had a wonderful experience in Woodbury Lodge. We loved our guide Roxy who is extremely knowledgeable and an outstanding ranger.
She was able to show us lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, elephants, all sorts of antilope, monkeys and warthogs. The only animal we didn’t see was a cheetah as they are very rare to spot but Roxy made a huge effort to find it.
She had great knowledge on birds and the reserve itself. Her driving skills are excellent!
The accommodation itself is wonderful and very clean. Each room has their own terrace overlooking the waterhole where the animals come to drink. Absolutely magical to watch!

Extremely comfortable and very private. Very nice staff and, especially, a highly skilled game driver named Lubela who managed to make every game drive better than the previous. But also a very ”family atmosphere” in the lodge. All meals and drinks are included with nice food served every day.
Induli lodge was opened in 2024 and is nicely renovated/decorated with many attention to details. Matt, the owner was very attentive and fulfilled your requests for any specific liquor etc. that you felt was missing.

The staff ensured we had a truly special stay that was shared with the other small number of guests. The tents are beautiful and expertly combine luxury with a unique safari feel, overlooking the wilderness and expanse of Amakhala, from the large deck out the front back and side of the tent. All drinks and meals are included and two game drives are included per day (early morning and late afternoon). The drives and guides were amazing, we had so many exciting encounters with the animals, including lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino, antelopes, giraffe and many more. The staff at Amakhala were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. the room was large and when you came back after the second safari they had turned the lights on. folded down the beds and put the heating on. That is a really great touch from the staff. The Park Rangers were very good. We had Jessie and he was very informative and had a great sense of humour. We did an afternoon Giraffe walk through Bellevue Lodge and it was amazing - we were taken on a safari vehicle onto a game reserve and from there had to find the grazing giraffe. Once we spotted them, we drove close by and then got out of the vehicle to walk close (but not too close) to the giraffe to watch them eat their dinner. It was a lovely experience, and our guide Stephen was knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions. This was a new listing , and we were the first guests, LUCKY US!! The facilities offered are too many to mention. An updated kitchen with everything that opens and closes and more. Filter water on tap, a wine fridge, every spice that you can imagine. If you have forgotten anything at home, no stress they have it. A beautiful, clean, large family home. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great, wifi, dstv and views from every bedroom. Our host Larraine was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature. Super bedroom and in the morning all kind of animals where in front of your room. Also the Akmala Game reserve tour is highly recommendable because we saw so many wild animals (lions, rhino's, cheetahs, secretary bird,...) Amakhala Game Reserve is a haven for wild animals and a brilliant place for a safari. Many of the animals used to roam the land 100 years ago before the land was used for farming. In the early 2000's the land was returned to its natural habitat and the animals reintroduced, with the aim of conservation and breeding of endangered species. As it is in a malaria-free area, it is the perfect location for a safari for people who get bitten by mozzies! There were only a few jeeps out on drives at any time, so you rarely come across other people.
