Beautiful hotel - the view from the bar area is simply amazing. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The food is high quality - the breakfast buffet has a wide range of food (western and eastern) and the dinner was excellent. Concierge was very helpful. The hotel has a special entrance for the train to Fansipan - little bonus!😊 The pool is amazing after a morning "climbing" to Fansipan summit. The room are good size room, the bed is very confortable and the bathroom well equipped. The decoration throughout the hotel is amazing. Book a garden view as the street can be noisy.

The hotel was good value for money. It was around 10 mins walk (be ready for an uphill walk on the way back) to Sapa stone church where almost all if not all tours start, unless of course hotel pick up was an option. It was also close enough to the lake so I spent a couple of afternoons sitting by it on the way back to the hotel from meals out. It was close to all activity without being in the center of it all (noise). Cuong, the owner/ manager was one of the nicest, sweetest, most helpful person I’ve come across. Very willing to help and approach especially with booking tickets, taxi, massage, etc. Their stand double room could comfortably accommodate 4 people. For the money I paid, it definitely delivered.

View and location - the view was as per the pictures. The location, while some may not like it as it's 10 mins drive from town, i love the fact it's away from the city. Cost per trip to the city is VND100k, and it is easy to get a cab back. Meals - Each meal is prepared with care and adorned with their local flora. Loved that their vegetables is farm to table. Whether it's BBQ or steamboat, they feed us well. Shower - Good water pressure and there's even a heater in the bathroom. Hospitality of every single employee - They were great hosts making sure each and everyone of us gets comfortable. Focus on environmental sustainability - use of eco products for their sheets and towels.

Good and friendly service, Staff can speak English. Great breakfast spread comes with room. Easy access, convenient and good restaurants in town. Walking distance to city centre, Sun Plaza, Ham Rong park, Moana, Cat Cat village and had a great view of the terrace paddy field valley. We can see Fansipan from our room window. Hotel also has a spa and massage in B3 called Lavendar Spa. We did the full body massage and it was good and inexpensive. Must try.

Nothing much as dislike. It was a great stay and a good breakfast. Our bus timing for way early than check in and check out, they allowed us to stay in hotel in wait area which also very spacious and neat and clean washrooms even with shower facility. Telling about the room, it was awesome. The breath taking view to mountains and fogs and the night lights. Location wise: Centre to almost everything.

Beautiful gentle people, lots of Hmong and ethnic culture. Would have liked to have taken the cable car to Fansipan but the weather was too cloudy. However, we took the train to the cable car station and spent 3 hours there. I have never seen such beautiful gardens with hydrangeas and roses and so many other flowers. There were fantastic village productions of the culture including dancing that should not be missed.

Lao Cai is a frontier town and as such, has a quite quirky feel to it. There is not a whole lot to do per se, apart from visiting a couple of pagodas. I do like the vibe there and there is some really good Vietnamese food available.

A great, quiet mountain town - and we didn't even go for the Sunday market! We stayed 4 nights, and would come back. Take tours of the surrounding hill tribes and mountains with Mr Huy Trung, from Huy Trung Homestay, or use his self-guided walking tour maps. We enjoyed the second hand shops and Milano coffee cafe, and a restaurant at BacHA Boutique Homestay, by the lake.

So much to do in sapa, really nice spot but would want good weather as it gets foggy and don’t see anything. Also bring warm clothes because you just never know and evening times are always colder. But overall a beautiful place to see

Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel...

Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel owners refuse to provide information and collaborate only with specific companies. English guides limited but a guide named Thao made our stay a nightmare. She was trying to push lunch and other side services, once she realized we didn’t want that, she stopped any guiding and intentionally destroyed half of one day and the whole second day by acting simply as a side person on the trip, not providing absolutely anything. Totally unprofessional and even verbally rude and sarcastic. Avoid at all costs!

The best part being in Sa Pa is the trip to Mount Fansipan.

The best part being in Sa Pa is the trip to Mount Fansipan. We came in October and it was foggy the whole time. We did not see the view of the clouds because we were in the clouds I would say. It was still an amazing experience to reach the 'roof of Indochina' - twas mystical and spiritual for me. I was kind of emotional when the National Anthem of Vietnam was played during the flag raising at the summit. of all the restos we ate, we love Cozy Restaurant near our hotel. Mountainous area famous for plum. It's called the white valley because during the spring the whole area is covered by plum flowers. So it's best to visit in early January. Otherwise, summer is a good time for plum picking. I had an enjoyable experience picking plum myself and brought lots of them home. I was lucky to visit during the weekends when they had annual horse racing competition. Really memorable. They also have weekly Hmong flea market on Sunday, you can eat local food and see ethnic people trading. Riding motorbike and looking at the mountain was fairly enough for me. You definitely should eat at Sa Mu restaurant. The food was so good that we went there twice.
