What a location! Being less than 30mins from Mt Rushmore, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and the Wildlife loop makes Custer a great location - and this hotel is the perfect stay if you are in town! The large lobby offered a relaxing space to unwind with a coffee or tea in the evening, and a brilliant setting for the included breakfast. The staff we met were friendly and professional and the room was large, modern and clean. A great stay!

Hill City is a great place to stay.

Hill City is a great place to stay. It's beautiful and right in the middle of all Black Hills attractions. Keystone is like 15 min drive away, Sylvan Lake is 3 miles away, Rapid City is 27 miles. Everywhere you drive, the scenery is amazing, so even driving 30 minutes to Rapid City is a quick, pleasurable drive. Hill Citys Main street has lots of nice dining and shopping options, including a Subway for a picnic lunch at Sylvan Lake. Hill City also has a nice Grocery store and a hardware store, unlike Keystone. I'd highly recommend staying in Hill City to get the full Black Hills living experience.

We loved the pioneer museum, if you like pioneer history go check it out. The mammoth site is a must see lots of history there. They also had a great pizza place one time we did a tswana had Buffalo meat, pineapple, meat the crust was homemade it was delicious. The hotel experience was great the staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions on what sites to go see. I would recommend this hotel. It was easy to find and get to.

Hermosa was close to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and Crazy Horse. We were happy staying here. We stayed for 4 nights, but could have stayed 1-2 more. It was a beautiful area. Getting around Hermosa was easy with the help of Google maps. There are a lot of dirt roads though.

The location was perfect, I can still smell the night air and hear the wind in the tree's. We had a thunderstorm in the middle of the night and it actually added to the ambiance of the whole place, if we ever travel this way again we will definitely spend a couple of nights here. Also the smores around the campfire were a hit with the grandkids and adults too!

Custer is a cute little town about halfway between Mt.

Custer is a cute little town about halfway between Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial and an ease drive through the Needles Parkway and Custer State Park. Well situated. The only problem that we had was finding a place to eat on Monday night; many of the moderately-priced restaurants were closed, and it was frustrating trying to find a place to take the kids to get something they would eat.

It's a great central location for a few days on the bike trail. A nice ride down to Custer or up to Rochford. We enjoyed Sunday morning worship at The Little White Church, as well as browsing local shops, and dining in the restaurants. Hill City gives you easy access to other destinations in the central and southern Black Hills. Definitely recommend this city for a few days in the Hills.

Wonderful town and so much to see and do within the town.

Wonderful town and so much to see and do within the town. Visit the Hot Springs spa and the plunge. Climb the stairs in the town to the beautiful sandstone park. Visit the old school house, walk the main street and view the site of the original hot spring. Spend time at Moccasin Springs Spa, and don't miss Evan's Plunge for a different hot springs experience. Stop at the Kitchen Ink for an amazing lunch or any of the coffee shops in town. I could see living in this delightful town.

We walked the worn and it is chock full of touristy kitsch, as you might expect. However, there are also places with some historic significance, the wood carving venue is fun and it's an easy drive if you want to visit Sturgis or Deadwood. A couple of the dining places were a little sketchy (they all get their chicken nuggets/tenders from the same fake chicken supplier), but Annie's and a couple others are good and inexpensive. Undoubtedly the main attraction here is Mt. Rushmore and the town is pretty much dedicated to that. It's a charming little town with some history, easy to navigate, and appears to be safe for walking around anytime. Good visit.
