We only stayed here for one night but it would have been great for a longer stay. Pleasant spacious room in a newly refurbished hotel and very comfortable bed. I would also like to thank the staff for their patience in parcelling up my partner's jacket and forwarding it by UPS to Denver, where we were en route to before leaving for the UK, after he left it behind and we were already too far away to return for it. While this must have been inconvenient, they were unfailingly polite and helpful over the Booking.com messenger service.

Loved our stay here. The woman at reception was super friendly and welcoming. We had some great chats throughout our stay. When we arrived, we had booked a room that you needed to entire via the back alley. But because of how muddy it it was back there and the recent bear activity she moved our room, free of charge, to the second floor. Complementary wine and homemade cookies were great. Lots of fun playing board games and having a drink while it snowed. Room was comfortable and very clean. Also very close to the Main Street.

Everything! From our checkin through to our check out. Pierce welcomed us on arrival, and he was absolutely wonderful. So happy and welcoming. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was great - something for everyone. The hot tubs were an added bonus and the location was perfect. This is our second time staying, and we will definitely stay here again, if we ever make it back to Ouray. Great value for money too

Our stay at Chipeta Lodge was excellent! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We loved having our private spa jacuzzi on the balcony — such a relaxing touch. The suite was well-equipped with a kitchen, and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the tennis court near the hotel, and it was a bonus that we could borrow racquets and balls for free from the front desk. Overall, a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Love the quirky on-point Retro decorating. Each room has a theme. Cutesy retro items throughout the property. So co,ourful, it stands out as a point of difference to all the other drab neutral coloured motels.

The big draw of Durango is the steam train ride.

The big draw of Durango is the steam train ride. It was OK, but if you're taller than 5'6" the seating will be very uncomfortable. The town itself is a tourist trap. Restaurants are average, prices high, and service poor. They know you came for the train, and won't be back. Colorado is a beautiful state, but there are better choices there.

Cortez is a nice place to spend time if you love mountain biking and hiking. It has clean air and easy access to the Mesa Verde national park. I've done some wonderful mountain bike rides there over the years and it's also really close to Hovenweep National Monument, which is totally worth the trip and a wonderful, quiet place to camp.

Very scenic with plenty of nice drives to take around to see different views of this southwest part of Colorado. Limited food options in town, but enough to provide variety for my wife and I for 3 days. Nice waterfall in town and very easy to get to. If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle (we drive a 4runner but saw other types of trucks F150 etc) take the drive on last dollar road. This will dump you into Telluride, but the view from the top is amazing! A mellower drive that any vehicle can make but still has some amazing views is the Owl Creek Pass road.

Ridgway is a small town on the edge of the spectacular San Juan mountains, not far from much more famous--and more expensive-- Ouray and Telluride. It is an old western railroad town that today has a thriving art and restaurant scene. The surrounding scenery is spectacular.

If you are going to ride Side by sides or ATV's Silverton is not inviting. Very little parking for trailers and you can't ride in town. Sheriff asked me to move out of the unload lane whlle parked at the grocer store. I'll spend my money next time in Lake City.

We came to Mancos to visit Mesa Verde National Park.

We came to Mancos to visit Mesa Verde National Park. We had an afternoon for sight-seeing and one morning to take 2 tours of the cliff dwellings. We got in one 2-hour hike and visited the museum and watched the informational movie. I would recommend spending more time in the area to take in more of the hiking trails available. Would also have liked time to stay late and view the stars in the dark conditions of the National Park with no light pollution. I would highly recommend a long stay at Mesa Verde National Park and the surrounding area.

The cleanliness was wonderful. The property needs A LOT of maintenance. The location was horrible unless you are a skier. 30 miles out of town was extremely disappointing. The stairs felt dangerous. Wet and slippery . The key pad never took less than 3 tries.

We had booked the train ride to Silverton. There was flooding/heavy rain during our trip. The train ride was canceled halfway through. The traffic at the train station was heavy. Be prepared to wait to get into the parking area. Otherwise, Durango and the Apple Orchard Inn were lovely.
