We had a brilliant stay with Andi at the cottages in Bluff. It was perfectly located for our road trip through the south west, near Goosenecks SP and Monument Valley, and the amenities in Bluff are great. The cottage was clean, tidy and welcoming and Andi kept in contact with us in advance and during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. On top of the above, I can’t thank Andi enough for stepping up and helping when my partner was unwell the day we were due to leave. I couldn’t have asked for more during a stressful time - help managing the situation, directions to the ER, and kindly checking in again afterwards. Andi, you really helped a tricky day remain just a tricky day and not affect our holiday. A huge thank you from us, we’d love to come back anytime we’re in the area.

If you love the beauty of the desert, respect and admire Navajo culture, and want to be surrounded by iconic visions of the Southwest, Monument Valley is a bucket list trip for sure. I would go back with family, perhaps booking a horseback trip in the park next time.

We loved visiting the Edge of the Cedars Museum, State Park.

We loved visiting the Edge of the Cedars Museum, State Park. It's beautifully done with many ancestral artifacts, plus an actual ruin with a Kiva that you can climb down into. It's definitely worth taking an hour or so out of your journey to see.

I came to Utah to visit Moab after arriving in Moab all hotels were sold out so we ended up in Monticello. After getting to the hotel I was kinda leary looked old and kinda run down but to find out someone had just bought the hotel and was in process of refurbishing it. Our room was very nice beds were comfortable and the room was clean no mold. I would definitely stay here again friendly people Beautiful state

Mt. Peale Country Inn is REMOTE, and just what we wanted.

Mt. Peale Country Inn is REMOTE, and just what we wanted. Set amid forested mountains and meadows, it's perfect for star gazing and vegging out. In the mornings and evenings, deer and jack rabbits wander right up to the viewing deck. The spacious common rooms let us mingle with other guests or just do our own thing. Amanda and her daughter are attentive and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more. We're returning next spring and bringing a friend with us!

There isn't a town center, but it was the perfect spot between Monticello and Blanding. Not much was open in March in Monticello and only one place named Yaks serves breakfast in Blanding. Many more options for other meals in Blanding including a darling ice cream shop. We loved touring the working Cedar Mesa Pottery shop there and finding great deals on their seconds. And there is a hike to 5 Kiva Pueblo ruins some of our group enjoyed.

We arrived late afternoon and looked around Gould's Resort. The museum was interesting and food was quite good other than the country western music, which is not our style. We took the Sunrise Tour through Gould's Resort and it was excellent. The formations in Monument Valley are fabulous. The movie and Navajo history are also very interesting.

Desert Rose has the best and ONLY decent restaurant in the 'one-horse' town of Bluff. It was closed on the Saturday and Sunday of our visit - and, indeed, EVERY Saturday and Sunday!!!!!!! Avoid this 'town' if you can.

The area around Blanding is beautiful and unique. There’s lots to see if you’re into history and unique scenery. Be sure to have a pickup or SUV with good clearance and awd/4wd for the best experience traveling around there.

Monticello is the best base to visit The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. It takes about an hour to get to the visitor center - if you do not make any stops on your way. But the surrounding nature is wonderful, so you probably make lots of stops to take photos. The road into the national park in Indian Creek Canyon is very scenic. Monticello is a small and quiet town. There's nothing to do there except to spend your night. There are two pizza saloons (the medium pizza costs $15), a Mexican restaurant which had a growing line of customers in the evening and a Thai restaurant which is probably the most expensive in town (minimum $20 for a meal, no drinks). Its worth to go and have a look at a Mormon temple on the edge of town - it is beautiful.
