Safe well-lit parking lot, clean updated rooms with quality construction, good wifi, safe location and hotel for single woman traveler. Breakfast buffet had good options, there was an outdoor pool, a reading nook with books to borrow, and computers for printing out boarding pass. This was nicer than a usual Best Western in my opinion. Easy on-off to 101. Good pillows, good room temp, good bed! Very pleased. Nice sized fridge in the room as well.

Point Reyes has an array of incredible hikes and bike paths. It’s truly a treasure just 1.5 hours away from busy San Francisco. Tomales Bay resort is an old fashioned lodge, set on the edge of Tomales Bay with stunning water views, small beaches suitable for children, and a good selection of room types. Buy a Tom Harrison map of the park, download All Trails and pick out a few hikes and bike trails. You’ll see a ton of wildlife as you explore the park, especially if you get out early. Point Reyes Station is a charming resort town with a great bookstore and a wonderful Palace Market.

This is a hidden gem of a place a stone's throw from Muir Woods and really great mountain hikes. Yes, it's lovely 1970s American Modernist feel could use a like of paint in places, but it more than makes up for that in its character and charm. The view from my balcony over woods and water to San Francisco was stunning--the hotel is on a panoramic ridge with views in both direction. It's a short walk to a trailhead that will take you down into Muir Woods National Monument and the giant redwoods (saving you the $15 entry fee and the $9 parking fee). I had the wild salmon for dinner which was also excellent. The staff were super-friendly and (I felt) actually cared about me and how I was doing (rather than just running through a script.

This was a real treat. The property is maintained so well. Everything is in good shape, the rooms are ample and comfortable and the bathroom facilities are excellent. It is very well located just off the freeway and while it looks less stellar than nearby hotels on the same block on the outside, the inside is great! Also, parking is ample and convenient and the manager is very friendly and helpful. It was extremely good value for the money.

The upstairs occupants were noisy - it's as if they crossed the room in a foot race - very late - shd've called, but didn't. The concierge, Jeff, was wonderful. Efficient, courteous, professional and has a good sense of humor as well. The Lodge is lovely, the grounds, and although we didn't use the bar or restaurant, enjoyed the whole area - very pretty. Also, surprised with the wine bar in the afternoon. Thank you very much

The room located on the second floor had a visible floor slope, which did not affect our stay at all. The bathroom was very clean, renovated. Nice toiletries were provided. The breakfast included a choice of omelet, bagels, muffins, waffles, and cereals. You could ask for the bagel to be toasted.

Novato is an ideal locatin for any direction of travel. Not far from San Francisco, close to charming Petaluma and the rest of Sonoma and Napa wine country, easy to get to the ocean, and it's a nice town. Also has the wonderful SMART train for access to the Larkspur ferr to SF and the Schultz airport in Santa Rosa.

I grew up in Mill Valley and absolutely love opportunities to visit. Proximity to wonderful trails, lovely views, redwood trees, interesting neighborhoods; pretty waterfall; nice theater and music hall offering quality entertainment and a movie theater; good food choices (both from cafes/restaurants and upscale grocery stores) and very close to other interesting towns and San Francisco. Public transportation around area is limited but getting to/from San Francisco via public transportation is easy and have done it often.

We lived in Marin for 25 years before moving outside Chicago in 2019. When we can't stay with friends, we stay at Marin Suites because we love how centrally located Corte Madera is. Super easy to get to go north to wine country or south into the city and beaches. We appreciate the convenience of several grocery stores and great shopping, boutiques as well as chain stores.

Sausalito is a beutiful town with many great places to eat.

Sausalito is a beutiful town with many great places to eat. THe views from the harbor are outstanding, acros the bay to San Francisco and the other bay islands. It's also a great base to vist San Francisco from . You can take the ferry or take an inexpensive bus ride which takes about 40 minutes and has the added avantage of a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge on the way. The bus opeartes every hour throughout the day and the ferry every 2 hours 0700-1800. If you want live music in a friendly bar then the No Name Bar is for you. Great music and a good selection of micro brews. Hotels are rather expensive but this is the same in downtown San Francisco. Highly reccomended.

Walking around in the small local towns. Best meals I had were at Piazza D'Angelo's in Mill Valley and the Garden Cafe in San Rafael. I think its best to rent a car to drive through all the local towns in the area. My favorite spot was the McNear's Beach.

Novato is a quiet suburb north of San Francisco.

Novato is a quiet suburb north of San Francisco. It is mainly a working class town with a few enclaves of expensive large houses on acreage lots. There is also an area of large rural properties where horses are popular as well as other barnyard animals. Access to the ocean is via Novato Blvd. ( a central street running through the center of town ); following Novato Blvd. west is a beautiful 45 minute drive to the town of Point Reyes Station and the Pacific Ocean beaches just beyond (10 minute drive further west). Lovely visitor friendly beaches and hiking areas. Local shops & good restaurants, a bakery, a grocery store are all available in the town of Point Reyes Station if you take the ride to the ocean
