Thirty eight fantastic years of second home ownership in the area, lost in the East Troublesome Fire. That said, Grand Lake is still awesome, RMNP with entrance restrictions, a better experience. 4th of July fireworks over the lake worth the effort. Repertory Theater an unexpected gem. Grand lake is a cute little town with easy access to Rocky Mountain national park. A lot of neat little shops and restaurants and a big selection of places to stay. Really nice area to visit RMNP. I've always gone to Estes Park, but this side is more tranquil and has a variety of different activities to enjoy besides the RMNP (without the long entry lines and large amount of visitors on the trails) - lake kayaking, river float fishing, whitewater rafting, etc. Limited restaurant options, etc., but really quaint town right on the lake.Guest review byIanUnited States
