I like staying in South Tahoe for a lot of the hiking and places to visit and eat...however, I would probably never go during this holiday weekend ever again; it was too busy too crowded and too noisy but usually it's a really fun place to go to . Lots of historical places to visit.Guest review bykmt travel chicUnited States - 6.0
Stateline is undergoing a huge transformation.
Stateline is undergoing a huge transformation. Harveys is being re-branded with a ton of construction. Inside was seriously a shell of itself. Golden Nugget is also under construction and remodel. The whole area just felt run down. Not the Stateline we remembered from years past. I am sure it will improve once construction ends, but at this time it is a work in progress.Guest review byderek - 8.0
Not enough parking!
Not enough parking! Had to not do activities due to not getting a place to park. Beautiful lake, interesting cultural sights & wonderful trails...would love to go back when fewer people or parking issue is resolved.Guest review bySharon NicholsUnited States - 10.0
It is a live town.
It is a live town. They kept the country/cowboy look but everything inside is modern blended real well. I am glad that the economy is ok -0 if we could do this to all cities in America, it would be wonderful. Been to cowboy towns but it was dying. Hurts the heart. America is cowboy country. Where I stayed at, it was close to all the tourist spots for Placerville so no issue on traffic or long drives although a tourist knows that to find information, if you flew or drove over, you know that a lot of searching is involved.Guest review byElcaUnited States - 10.0

Very different vibe than South Lake Tahoe...more "beach town" than mountain resort. We enjoyed the burgers at Char Pit and ice cream at nearby Log Cabin Ice Cream & Coffee. N Lake Blvd has a lot of fun shops & eateries, but we ended up going into Incline Village for most of our shopping & dining.Guest review byRobinsonUnited States - 8.0

Very scenic area with lots of water based and hiking activities. Lots of great places to eat with friendly staff. Guests visiting in the summer months should be aware of a daily resort tax which is not reflected in the booking.com price. We incurred $50 extra per night which we were not aware of at the time of booking.Guest review byLouiseUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It's an awesome place to visit; the skiing is world class,...
It's an awesome place to visit; the skiing is world class, and the views of Lake Tahoe are unmatched anywhere in the USA. There is so much history at this Resort. The "Base-to-Base" gondola opens up so much more terrain to ski. The "Village" is nicely planned with shops and stores and great places to eat. There is even a tiny Market to help stock the fridge (but only for quick items, essential). If planing on staying up there for a week, also plan on going "into town" to purchase more grocery items (a car is needed)... UBER prices from Reno Airport are about $110. LIMITED OR NO Uber services returning to Reno!!! Cost to Return can be as high as $500.... If you Uber, get your drivers name and number; make an arrangement to contact that Uber driver and have them drive you back to Reno at the end of your vacation: Cash deal; off the books; it would be like a private limousine service. (about $125-$150)Guest review byRoy - 10.0

My stay in Pollock Pines was truly refreshing—the crisp mountain air, beautiful scenery, and frequent glimpses of local wildlife made for a peaceful retreat. I especially enjoyed hiking and exploring the Jenkinson Lake Recreation Area. The location was perfect, offering a serene escape while still being conveniently close to Placerville and other charming spots in the Sierra foothills.Guest review byVickie - 10.0

very pretty, weather was great, beaches was perfect for what i wanted, and even was able to do a little swimming in the lake. i went to pope beach and was $12 for entry, was well worth it. tried to get to a couple other beaches and it was super hard to find parking. pope beach was great and was able to get to the beach right from my parking spot. went to a couple outlets and people was really nice. traffic was not bad, even though there was allot of road work going on. bring your own beach needs because it is expensive at the stores to buy. love the big 5.Guest review byCJUnited States - 8.0

.=Tahoe is beautiful and I enjoyed the Gondola ride. Please note it does not run year round and you need to check the Heavenly Valley website for the schedule. There are lots of opportunities to check out the lake from an air balloon, on one of the many cruises or more active things like paddle boarding or jet skis. Stateline also has the casinos and some good restaurants, I dined at Gordon Ramseys Hells Kitchen and it was very good. It is not a cheap dinner but most are not these days and the food was exceptional especially the Sea Bass and the not to miss Toffee pudding.Guest review byjuliaUnited States
