United KingdomClean, unique, modern but functional room. When we arrived the lights weren’t working but this was rectified very quickly with a huge apology and explanation. In house restaurant had local beers and the food was delicious. Simple quick check in and check out. Really helpful e-mail received before we arrived. Staff were really friendly and helpful. If we are ever in Mad River Valley again we would definitely stay here. Thank you to TJ and the team.

FranceReally nice stay at Talta lodge that catered super well for our family of 4. Photos are definitely accurate. Everything is sleek, modern and clean with multiple areas indoors and outside to lounge and chill. The hotel is placed just next to the river and the Stowe Recreation Path with plenty of trails nearby.frre parking, indoor swimming pool and sauna were the cherry on the top. Will definitely be back!

The property was clean, tidy and modern.
We absolutely loved this hotel and the fact that the bar and entertainment area was separate but on the property.
This hotel offers exceptional customer experience right from beginning. Huge shout out to the awesome bloke at the bar that ensured that we were looked after at the bar, he gave us outstanding service and made us feel welcome, thank you mate, you are an absolute legend 🙌🏽

We have visited the area many times, and this time was for a specific overnight event.
Regarding Montpelier proper, there is little to do or see: the capitol is worth a visit, but requires little time. Despite what we read in a recent chamber of commerce publication, this is not a place for gastronomy: there is a good, but hardly noteworthy, Italian restaurant, and some small familiar ethnic places that we have never tried. The remaining choices are OK, serviceable. One recommendation would be the Capital Gound, for breakfast or lunch. Good coffee.
The city is well placed for touring central VT.

How they lie and then charge you extra.
How they lie and then charge you extra. After giving an honest review they charge me stating I smoked in the room. On camera”if they even worked” you can see I was outside. Lied about my cigarette waste was not in their trash. They do not provide trash outside. Slept horrible waking up at 2 am with the room at 85 degrees. And lights kept flickering. At least if your going to scam me- use the money wisely to fix up your place. Not even mentioned my in laws room was horrible and worse than mine.

Plainfield is a very peaceful, mindful community! There's Positive Pie, which you can't miss, as well as Bragg Farm down the street for cremees! If you come here in the summer, there's kayaking, camping, fishing, plenty of things to see in other nearby towns!

Went to Emily's covered bridge. On the way back down was spectacular views! Don't forget the gondola ride up Mt. Mansfield as well as the toll road. Getting around was easy as most things were on the main strip. We ate at many places but was sticker shocked on food prices. I don't mind spending but some things were WAY overpriced! All in all it was a fun relaxing trip after getting a room. The first place wasn't accessible so we went across the street and luckily they had a room for us.. Money was refunded for the other place and they apologized.

Basic, somewhat Spartan accommodations in an older building.. Quiet, with few other guests. Cordial staff. Everything worked OK, but the stairs to my room were steep and narrow. Very nice front porch for sitting and conversation, on site parking, easy walk into center of Montpelier. Restaurant was closed during my visit.

Waitsfield is exactly how I pictured a small New England...
Waitsfield is exactly how I pictured a small New England town should look. It has adorable shops, a farmer's market, and some good restaurant options. We had delicious steak at the Hyde Away Inn, and beer at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Our stay at the Mad River Lodge was comfortable, in a lovely setting just outside of town. We were in the area for the Mad River Marathon, which is challenging, but scenic.

Stowe is magical, great restaurants with fantastic meal choices and exceptional staffs,. Views abound.
Great programs and good times. We will continue returning to the vacation capital of the east
Green mountain is great for breakfast
Harrisons is best for steak, venison and rack of lamb. Outstanding atmosphere
Salute is great for everything on the menue ,
Get to Edson Farm as soon as you can , very small but over the top.

Have been to Montpelier area several times but this was not a vacation trip it was a bereavement. All of Vermont is beautiful and feel lucky to have visited there so many times in the past with my sister.
