Simple and peaceful guesthouse at lake Bunyonyi shores in semi remote location. I unluckily arrived with a health problem on my arrival day, and these people took great care of me. Very grateful for their kindness, I highly recommended Amasiko.

This eco lodge is solar powered with delightful staff and a wonderful view over the lake from the verandaed stilt house dining area. It's isolated and tranquil with some traditional huts for accommodation. We sat upstairs on the covered verdanda for hours, drinking beer, using the wifi (intermittent but it does work!) and watching the huge national bird (crested crane) fly over head and nest in the trees nearby. Loved the view. Also ate meals there - of course a bit more expensive than in town but still fairly priced and tasted good. Free purified water offered. (no shops on the island) Take a taxi or moto from town to the boat (20 mins). Then take the little boat with outboard motor (book ahead with the lodge). (Lodge will tell you how much to expect to pay for the taxi). We were there in the rainy season and still loved it. Appreciated the hot showers after trying out the traditional wooden dug out canoe in the rain! Really recommend this place if you enjoy simplicity and nature away from the busy towns in Uganda.

We had a wonderful stay at Mianzi Guest House, the rooms were simple but spacious and clean, the common area was very nice to sit in, the breakfast and dinner were fantastic. But what really stood out was the staff, Emma and his team really went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay, they provided everything we needed, even joined us on our tours. We planned to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 5, i think thats telling enough how good it was :) Oh and the view of the Volcanoes in the morning is absolutely incredible!

From the moment I made the booking, I already received a warm response from the Edward. He contacted me immediately and made sure my transportation was perfectly arranged. When I arrived in Kabale, he was there waiting for me together with Oris. Such incredibly kind people. They took me to the boat and arranged the boat ride to the beautiful accommodation. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by friendly staff, including the cheerful chef, who cooked an absolutely delicious meal for me — truly the best meal I had in Uganda. I will never forget it. The cottage and the houses are beautifully located with a stunning view over Lake Bunyonyi. The cottages are extremely clean, and the view you have from there is simply amazing. Edward and Oris also took such good care of me on my return journey, making sure I got back safely and helping me throughout my transport and travel. Edward and Oris, people like you are the reason I travel. You are incredibly kind and have truly good hearts. I wish you all the very best, and I enjoyed every single moment of my stay with you. Amazing staff that are always smiling and super helpful. Amazing views of Kabale town and I would recommend people to stay at this guest house. Food is also delicious.

One of the best breakfast I had in Uganda! Fresh, a lot of local fruits, pancakes and fresh juice. Combined with a perfect view over Lake Bunyonyi - perfect match! The cabins are absolutely lovely, warm water all the time and the price you pay for a room is really fair compared to other accomodations around the lake. Staff is absolutely lovely and you help the community with your stay and payment. If you want a 10 out of 10 go to Seeds of Hope.

Ivan was an incredible host. Not only did he sort out my gorilla tracking excursion at a very reasonable price, but he also came to Rwanda to meet me and collect the money since the permit has to be paid for in cash. I was a little apprehensive about handing over that amount of money but he went out of his way to allay my concerns and I found him extremely trustworthy. He also helped me with my onward travel plans. I can't recommend him enough.
